The New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) has suspended Yoel Romero for 60 days due to his celebration after defeating Chris Weidman at UFC 205 on Nov. 12, 2016.
For those that missed it, Romero knocked Weidman out with an impressive flying knee in the third round and proceeded to jump over the octagon. He did a soldier's march around the outside of the cage and then went back in for the official decision.
Exiting the fighting area before the bout is officially over is prohibited by the NYSAC. Romero (13-1) will be eligible to return on January 12, 2017.
