EDIT: Oddly, Vader has now said he is not retiring even though he started the rumors with the tweet sent by his own account. He claims to be working later this month for Harley Race.

The Mastodon has decided to call it quits. This is definitely a sharp turn of events as Vader had originally said he would want to wrestle until he passed away from congestive heart failure even if it meant he were to die in the ring. According to his recent tweet, Vader would like to be able to see his potential grandchildren before he passes away so that had a lot to do with his decision.

While Vader will mostly be remembered to younger fans for his WWE work with people like Shawn MichaelsThe UndertakerMankind and others, his most success was most likely during his work with WCW where he was a former United States Champion and a former three-time World Heavyweight Champion.

Vader also had a classic series with Sting and was even featured on an episode of Table for 3 along with Sting and Diamond Dallas Page.

It seems as if Vader's last series of matches was back in April where he collapsed in the ring in Japan.
