R-Truth Discusses Pre-Match Routine, Listening To Hank Williams, Jr.

TheTimes.com interviewed R-Truth about a number of topics. Below are the highlights:

How did he react to Jack Crockett offering him a job?:

"I was still young, fresh getting out of jail and not knowing what I wanted to do with my life. I was thinking he wanted me to cut grass or something, so I pretty much ignored him for the whole year. I got to a point in my life when I didn't know what I wanted to do. I'm pretty much like a miracle story."

How does he get ready for a show, and what kind of music does he enjoy?:

I've been doing this for 17 years and right now it's pretty much like sitting in the saddle. I do my same ritual. I listen to my music to mentally get my mind right, I go through my stretches and after that I crank that car up and I drive it.

I listen to everything. I'm always listening to some Lil' Boosie, Wale, Marilyn Manson, Christina Aguilera, Hank Williams, Jr., Shooter Jennings — a wide range of music.

What can we expect out of his upcoming hip-hop album?

My music isn't the typical rap music you hear now. My music is about being positive, being inspired, having ambition, following your dreams, having respect for yourself, believing in yourself and not depending on anybody else.

Still thought they missed the boat with him during his heel run. Coulda lasted longer, lots of that stuff was gold.
