During tonight’s tapings for ROH, Jeff Cobb captured the Ring of Honor Television Championship

Cobb went on to defeat Punishnent Martinez to become ROH Television Champion at the tapings in Las Vegas.

He showed up at last night’s Death Before Dishonor event, making a name for himself by taking out Martinez after a title defense against Chris Sabin. Martinez has been champion since mid-June when he defeated Silas Young

Jeff Cobb made his debut with Ring of Honor back in July during their television tapings, calling himself the only top prospect in ROH. During tonight’s tapings, this marks the first time he has ever wrestled for the promotion.

Cobb is currently not signed with Ring of Honor, but PWInsider is reporting that it is expected for him to sign with the company once his non-compete clause ends with Lucha Underground.

According to Dave Meltzer, Martinez is on his way through the doors of WWE. He dropped the ROH Television Championship to Cobb during the tapings in Las Vegas. At the age of 36, Martinez began his wrestling career in 2004 and trained at the Monster.
