    Great stuff

  • AB

    My favourite McMahon. Awesome!

    • Dave Barton

      Mine is Ed.

  • steveuk007

Well, the WWE just shocked the hell out of all us with that opening scene.

    And that pop for Shane…

    • Ronn

Slammy Award for OMG moment of the year

    • Gary Robert

      the live crowd was great

    • Mandy

That crowd came alive when Shane came out, I don’t think he even expected that huge a pop.

    • Alex

That was a amazing pop from the crowd.

    • Jeremy

That was the loudest pop I have heard from a live crowd in a very long time. I about lost my mind when I heard the here comes the money theme.

  • kingdook24

The Undertaker vs…. Shane McMahon? The Godfather… In the Hall of Fame?

    Seriously… Who is booking this?!

    • steveuk007

Taker has ran out of opponents, no one can guess the outcome of this match, it’s great booking.

      • Ben

The match is going to be awful. I try to keep an open mind but when you talk about a 50 year old Taker against a mid-40s Shane who hasn’t been in the ring in about a decade, there’s not much to hope for.

        • kingdook24

          Exactly.

        • Mike Brailsford

Glad someone agrees. I am amazed so many people like the it.

        • Michael Hamilton 

Agreed, it’s probably not going to be best taker match we’ve ever seen, but like I said it keeps him healthy one more year so that we finally see the match with Sting as his retirement match for possibly the both of them.

          • Ben

I don’t want to see Undertaker or Sting wrestle again, much less wrestle each other. The only exception would be if they were doing the honors for a full-time talent since there would be some benefit to that match. Taker/Sting would be cool for about 10 seconds while they’re in the ring together, but once the bell rings it’s just two broken-down guys in their 50s taking up a main event spot for a match that will inevitably disappoint and make fans end up wondering what could have been 15 years ago. Hard pass.

      • kingdook24

No one can guess the outcome?

It’s Undertaker… Vs. Shane McMahon. At Wrestlemania. In Hell in a Cell.

If Taker loses, he’ll have 2 losses at Mania. To Lesnar… And a McMahon. Who the hell you think is gonna win?!!

    • Gary Robert

The Godfather really, imo, makes the HOF look like a joke. This guy was a mid-card gimmick and nothing else. Really a stretch and it hurts the HOF value

      • ohnowheredyougo

He will fit in nicely with Koko B Ware and Rikishi.

        • Gary Robert

Forgot Koko was in there…just as terrible lol

  • Anthony Prusky

This could really signify the end of the PG era, you know that right? Vince saying he can’t wait to see his son get the shit kicked out of him, talking about how Vince used to beat him as a kid, Ambrose being attacked backstage, off of TV time, not censoring out or dulling the loudest Holy Shit chant in 4 years…. the signs are there, lets hope PG is dead from good.

    • Gary Robert

      Reigns being beaten bloody

    • Vomkrieg

Not likely. PG isn’t the problem with WWE, unless you think what is wrong with the programming is not enough “bra and panties” matches. A rating change with current booking would still be bad TV, just bad TV with slightly more swearing and Lawler saying “puppies” during every womens match.

      • Ben

WCW was PG and had great programming at one time. I agree wholeheartedly that it’s not the rating.

  • Cubed56

I actually think this match may very well steal the show. I know Shane hasnt been in the ring in years and Taker’s best days are behind him, but history shows these two have never disappointed when called upon in a big spot. The fact that this match could literally go either way(of course not cleanly if shane wins) makes it so appealing. Shane is the perfect opponent for Taker as it will allow Taker to call the match at his pace and not put either on in any jeopardy of serious injury. The only gripe I may have, if any, is I actually prefer this match just be a straight up match rather than inside HIAC.

    • Ben

Wow, I’m seriously impressed with your ability to be optimistic about this match. You’ve given me a sliver of hope it won’t be awful.

      • Cubed56

Ha, glad I could help out. I understand it could also be a complete train wreck, but honestly I really feel those two will put on at the very least and entertaining competitive match.

        • Ben

What concerns me is seeing The Rock come back only to be blown up after a few minutes and have to be carried the entire match. I use him as an example since he’s obviously in much better shape than Shane and was a full-time worker for a few years. Shane was never full-time and has missed as much time as The Rock. Taker keeps coming back in great shape considering his age and injury history, but is there much doubt he’ll have to carry Shane? And honestly, Shane can’t (or at least he shouldn’t) do some of the crazy stunts that made his matches entertaining. Similar to the supposed “dream match” between Taker and Sting, this is a match that probably would have been good 15 years ago, but now it frankly scares me a little.

    • Wonderkarp

Always been a fan of Shane. Here’s a mcmahon who can actually perform great. That bump he took at the 2000 summerslam was amazing.

While I’m skeptical a Shane VS Taker match will actually happen, as it seems like a guaranteed loss for Shane, It would still be one hell of a match.

I just cant see Undertaker losing to Shane at Wrestlemania. Not without the help of every single person Taker beat at Mania.

      • Vomkrieg

And “coast to coast” has to be one of the best “top rope” finishers ever. It’s really quite unique.

        • Wonderkarp

not THAT unique. Rob Van Dam calls it the Van Terminator

          • Vomkrieg

I did not know that. And here was me thinking Shane had innovated the move, I should have known better 😉

          • Wonderkarp

imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

  • Shane McMahon vs Undertaker would be a good match

  • Don’t be shocked if Sting gets inserted to fight on Shane’s side. After all, WCW and all…..

  • David Carey

This to me screams ‘we can’t build up anybody properly’.

The fact that they are in a position where they’ve got no talent they consider big enough to go up against Taker is all on them. This time last year I could have seen Rusev up with Taker, then they fed him to Cena and gave him the highschool romance story.

Now we have a match that potentially serves absolutely nobody. Shane essentially had to win or this will become an entirely redundant after a month. If matches at your biggest event don’t serve to create opportunities or stars then they fail to have any worth. Hence why WWE has been so craptacular, because nobody (except Reigns) gets a solid consistent booking.

    • kingdook24

Exactly… All these superstars… Rusev. Ambrose. Ziggler. Owens. I could go on, all these superstars just waiting in the wings. But once again, WWE proves that they need part timers to help sell a show. HHH is our “champion”. Ambrose is fighting “Lesnar”. “Undertaker & Shane” in a HIAC. Their 3 main matches have 4 part timers.

    • Mark Leese

The problem is with having current guys go against Taker is they have to slow down to make Taker look competitve look at the Lesnar matches and the match with Bray both had to really slow down.

I don’t mind this match, I also don’t mind legends wrestling at WM. Its the one time in the year where getting big old school names really helps sell the show to non hardcore WWE fans…

    • Wonderkarp

Cenas not there to Bury anybody right now. When Cena gets back though, I’m worried about AJ Styles and Samoa Joe. Joe will come to the main roster, and I can just see Cena getting his Shovel out and five knuckle shuffling all over AJ Styles and Samoa Joe :/

      • Shadowfox

Think what you want but you’re using the term “bury” very loosely. If you said Triple H then I’d agree, but Cena hasn’t buried anyone. Blame Vince if you feel that way.

        • Wonderkarp

I point to Wyatts and Barrett specifically.

  • Gary Robert

The question I have for Richard is what do we know of Shane’s return? Is this a one-off match or is he back for some type of run as a full time character?

    • James

I hope he is back more full time and has more of a back screen process.

  • B-Money

If this happens, doesn’t it effectively turn Taker heel fighting for the Authority?

I can’t really see that happening… I wouldn’t be surprised if Taker shows up at some point to say he’s not going to fight for Vince and the whole match changes completely

    • James

Just because Taker is fighting because Vince McMahon said he has to fight Shane does not make Taker automatically heel. If Taker said to Vince, I will fight on your behalf, then yes Taker is heel. But being thrown into a match doesn’t make one heel or face. This is two faces fighting, this happens sometimes in wrestling.

      • Snap

Yes, two faces fighting isn’t an uncommon occurrence, but this isn’t a cut-and-dry situation. Taker vs. HBK was face vs. face because both sides agreed to the conditions of the match, here Vince is essentially saying Taker will do his bidding to rid him of Shane. If Taker just walks into the match without objection, then he can be considered the heel in the match.

Two faces can be “thrown into a match” for stakes such as the number one contendership for the World championship, but here we have Shane vying for control of RAW, which the fans in attendance enthusiastically supported.

        • James

Last time I checked Taker hasn’t walked into this match without an objection…so he isn’t a heel…not yet at least. It is not a good idea to jump to conclusions one way or another without knowing the entire story yet.

  • 1molly23

Shane O’Mac’s return was awesome! Good to see him back, even if the plan is only for a short time.

  • Splat

I marked out like a 12 year old when Shane’s music hit haha. . The crowd was going nuts…

  • Michael Hamilton 

it seems to be this match is one that keeps Taker healthy for at least one more year so that we finally see Taker Vs. Sting, and that is when he will retire because there is not only nothing left to prove but there’s not bigger “Dream Match” than The Icon Vs. The Deadman.

  • Chris

Personally I don’t even think this match will take place. Is Undertaker just going to show up and do The Authority’s bidding willingly, beat Shane and leave? I’m expecting this to unfold much more over the coming weeks.

  • Evon Callaway Bitterweed Reese

I don’t know how the match will go but Shane did great on his return. Kind of like the old day surprises before social media and nothing got leaked out.
