Hello TNA fans, and welcome back to the latest edition of Xplosion eXamination! In this article, I examine all of the Xplosion matches uploaded on TNA’s official YouTube channel from the month of April. Below each match breakdown, I have posted the match clip for you to watch!
Robbie E def. Rockstar Spud(4/7/15)
TNA must have read my Xplosion eXamination last month, as I complained about seeing The BroMans and Rockstar Spud competing (not against each other, though) in every other match. As luck would have it, the two forces collided in this match. Of course, it was comedy-filled with not much wrestling. The highlight of the contest was when Spud jumped out of the ring onto The BroMans. Robbie picked up the win following a roll-up while holding on to Jessie and the rope.
Bram def. Crazzy Steve(4/14/15)
I found it odd that JB announced this match had a 20-minute time limit before the action got underway. I was surprisingly really entertained by the fact that this wasn't at all the one-sided match-up I was expecting. Bram and Steve gave us much more than an Xplosion match. In my opinion, this could've easily been aired on Impact as a nice win for Bram. After the back-and-forth action and nearfalls, Bram planted Steve with the DDT for the win. This match is proof once again that Crazzy Steve has potential, but he just isn't used on TV much. Maybe he needs a gimmick tweak?
Brooke def. Angelina Love(4/21/15)
On this edition of Xplosion, we were fortunate to see some Knockouts action! Borash and Spud hyped this match on commentary as Brooke's first match back since her stint on The Amazing Race. Brooke and Love put together a decent, worth-watching match in the end. This doesn't surprise me one bit as I've really grown to like both of them lately, especially Angelina. Brooke managed to walk away with the victory following school girl on Love. I'm not standing for one side or the other as to who's "better" overall, but TNA really has WWE beat when it comes to how they handle their women's division right now.
Matt Hardy def. Manik(4/28/15)
It's always exciting to see someone of significance like Matt Hardy working a match on Xplosion. What made it even better was the fact that Hardy was taking on one of my favorites in TNA, Manik! Seeing their styles mash together was interesting. Manik spent a good amount of time trying to keep Matt down with submission holds. Hardy was able to ground the high-flyer and hit Twist of Fate for the win.
That's it for April! What did you think of the latest month's-worth of matches? It still shocks me to say that my favorite out of these four was Bram vs. Crazzy Steve. I'd love to hear from you below in the comments area.
