Welcome to the first edition of The Five-Count here on WrestlingNewsWorld.com's WWENews.net! If you are new to this series, I'll break it down for you real quick. Usually every weekend I post this weekly breakdown of what I liked, what I didn't like, who was the superstar or diva of the week, the match of the week, and a prediction or talking point I want to address. Here we go!
Superstar of the Week: Bray Wyatt
Bray Wyatt picked up two singles wins over former world champions this week. Wyatt beat former rival Daniel Bryan on Raw after a distraction from Kane. Wyatt went on to beat Jack Swagger on Main Event. Though he is a dark horse, these wins are essential as Wyatt tries to rebuild his character and could possibly win the Royal Rumble Match tonight. I'm sure we'll get a better picture after the Royal Rumble as to what's to come for Wyatt at WrestleMania.
Match of the Week: Daniel Bryan vs. Kane - No DQ Match (SmackDown)
Daniel Bryan went one-on-one with Kane once again on this week's SmackDown, this time in a No Disqualification Match. Triple H is still trying to stack the odds against Bryan even though Bryan has beaten The Authority before. This was a really good brawl in my opinion. Bryan has shown us that ring rust is not present and he's still as good as ever. Bryan's history with Kane is very relevant and it helped create a nice story to go along with the match. Bryan hit Kane with the running knee to score the win and to secure his spot in the Royal Rumble Match.
The Highlight: Raw Reunion - Ascension Destroyed, Sting Appears
Almost all of the Raw episodes in 2015 have sucked so far. And usually I'm not that negative. This week's wasn't bad, in fact, I walked away from the show with a smile. I'm so excited for the Royal Rumble and I was afraid Raw Reunion would take away from that. The nWo, APA, and New Age Outlaws gave me a late Christmas present when they met The Ascension in the ring and destroyed them on the mic and in the brawl. The other highlight of the week came when Cena faced Rollins, Big Show, and Kane in a handicap match. I don't remember much of the match because I was too busy anticipating what was going to happen. I knew something was going to go down, but I just didn't know who it would be!
Things started breaking down and then Sting appeared on the tron. His music hit and Sting walked out onto the ramp! This allowed for Cena to pin Rollins and the crowd popped big time! Triple H went berserk and tried calling Sting back out when Brock Lesnar made his way down to the ring. Lesnar went right after Rollins and then hit Kane and Show with an F5. I was hooked and it really makes tonight's top matches must-see.
The Lowlight: Erick Rowan Not In The Rumble
Dolph Ziggler, Ryback, and Erick Rowan were all rehired this week and returned to action on SmackDown. To get a spot in the Royal Rumble, they needed to beat their rivals. Ziggler beat Barrett, Ryback beat Rusev, but Rowan lost his match to Luke Harper. Yes, there are plenty of other things to whine about, but this disappointed me. No, I didn't think Rowan had an actual shot at winning. But, the fans are starting to get behind him, including me, and it sucks to see he won't be one of the thirty men in the Rumble tonight.
Prediction: Royal Rumble Predictions
