The Five-Count: Ryback Rules, Bryan vs. Rollins, Storyline Development

Another week has flown by and here we are with another edition of The Five-Count. The Fast Lane card is coming together as we progress on the road to WrestleMania. If you are new to this series, I’ll break it down for you real quick. Usually every weekend I post this weekly breakdown of what I liked, what I didn't like, who was the superstar or diva of the week, the match of the week, and a prediction or talking point I want to address. Here we go!

Superstar of the Week: Ryback

The real Superstar of the Week is actually Daniel Bryan. Bryan beat Seth Rollins twice this week, along with J&J Security on SmackDown. But, I don't always want to bore you with the "obvious." That is why I'm choosing Ryback for this spot. Ryback was put in a match with Luke Harper on Raw. The match turned out to be better than what almost everyone was expecting. It was a very good, underrated match between these two talented big men. Ryback went on to pick up the victory. On SmackDown, Ryback teamed with former Team Cena member Dolph Ziggler to pick up a win over Gold & Stardust. Two wins for Ryback can only mean good things after successfully returning from injury and gaining the fan's support.

Match of the Week: Daniel Bryan vs. Seth Rollins (Raw)

This is a dream match come true! Bryan and Rollins have always put on some highly entertaining matches back in the days of The Shield. Here we are in 2015. Bryan is back from injury and Seth is the number one heel who is taking the ball and running with it. Putting these two together was fantastic for the main event of Raw. From a storyline standpoint, it was also really good too. I'm not the biggest fan of putting Roman Reigns' WrestleMania title shot up for grabs, but it sets up a top match for Fast Lane. Bryan winning was the best option in my opinion and I'm looking forward to seeing a singles match between Bryan and Reigns.

The Highlight: Fresh Matches, Story Development

There seemed to be more positives than negatives with the overall week for WWE. This is very important on the road to WrestleMania. On this week's Raw, we got see five out of eight matches that were fresh. By fresh, I mean they haven't been seen on TV ever before or at least it's been awhile. These matches included Ryback vs. Harper, Cesaro vs. Jimmy Uso, Wyatt vs. Ziggler, Sin Cara vs. The Miz, and Bryan vs. Rollins. For once, a handful of the storylines that started on Raw carried over to SmackDown. We saw Ambrose vs. Axel, Rusev vs. Rowan, Paige vs. Fox again, and Bryan vs. Rollins and Security. While it would be nice to see this consistency and flow continue week after week, but it just won't happen. Sometimes it's the little things that make a difference.

The Lowlight: Big Show Beats Roman Reigns

Raw kind of got off to a sour start when Roman Reigns had to go one-on-one with Big Show again. The match has been overdone already and fans are ready to move on. Even though it was a change from the usual outcome, Big Show winning this one didn't make much sense. From what I hear, and if my memory serves me correctly, this is Roman's first singles loss by pinfall since debuting on the main roster. That's huge! He's been on the main roster for two years now. To make matters worse, the match wasn't even four minutes long and Rollins provided the distraction. WWE needs to keep Reigns as strong as possible going into his big match with Brock Lesnar.

Prediction: Reigns Beats Bryan At Fast Lane

I want to see Daniel Bryan back in the WWE Title picture as much as the next guy, but I think WWE needs to follow through with the original plan. Roman Reigns won the Royal Rumble and he is now guaranteed a match against Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Last year, Batista was somewhat screwed over when Bryan was inserted into his title match against Randy Orton. My prediction is Roman will beat Daniel Bryan in a darn good match that will probably main event Fast Lane. They shake hands after the match. Reigns now has even more momentum going into his fight with Lesnar.
