Global Force Wrestling still does not have a television deal even though they are set to hold their first “Amped” taping in Las Vegas, NV on Friday.
There is an interesting situation ongoing with TNA Wrestling possibly losing Destination America in September. We’re told both GFW and TNA have had talks with Fox Sports 2 and WGN about deals and it’s a weird situation regarding country music singer Toby Keith. The Carter family is interested in selling TNA and one potential buyer is Toby Keith (remember, a group featuring Keith nearly purchased TNA last year). Keith doesn’t want to buy TNA if they don’t have a solid domestic TV deal. He doesn’t really need to buy them if GFW gets solid TV and both companies are competing over the very few networks that would have interest in lower level pro wrestling.
If TNA lands a decent deal and GFW can't, Toby wants to buy, but at that point, Dixie Carter is not going to want to sell. Her family wants to sell regardless.
The morale in TNA has never been lower. Most expect the company to either go under or be completely unrecognizable in whatever form it takes next. Anybody making decent money knows they're next on the chopping block and the lower card guys are all interchangeable in the company's eyes.
