We reported recently about how Ring of Honor has reached out to WWE to see if a relationship could be developed. WWE didn’t say no but kind of gave them the runaround. We’re told internally that WWE doesn’t like to sign prospects that have worked on national television for other promotions and that includes Ring of Honor.

WWE is scheduled to meet with WWN (Evolve/DGUSA) officials in New York in the middle of August. WWE wants to see a detailed database of every match in the WWN library, so WWN is working to catalog all of their footage. There is some interest from WWE about potentially using footage for future home video releases and Network content, especially for guys like Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose

Vince McMahon is still very cold on the idea of having an official pipeline between WWN and NXT and as a result, everything is moving very slow. While Triple H is intrigued by the idea, he’s so focused on NXT’s expansion in terms of live events that it’s not an imminent priority for him to finalize an official relationship with WWN. Also keep in mind that he has to pick his battles with Vince and so far it’s not something he’s passionate enough about to really clash over.

Word is out amongst talent that signing an action figure deal with Ring of Honor could really hurt their chances of getting into WWE and there are guys in ROH refusing to sign action figure deals for that very reason
