Rey Mysterio does not have a signed contract from AAA to work Lucha Underground. With the show’s future still up in the air, Mysterio has put feelers out to see what the response would be if he wanted to return to WWE.

We ran an interview that promoted last week’s AAA “Triplemania” pay-per-view, where Mysterio spoke very positively about his former employer. Read: Why Rey Mysterio Left WWE; No Hard Feelings. That’s part of him trying to do some damage control because things got heated when he was trying to get WWE to release him from his Performer’s Contract.

So far, WWE has been cold on the idea of bringing Mysterio back but their attempts to create a Latin star to replace him haven’t exactly set the world on fire. Given that, it’s possible WWE could have a change of heart at some point.
