More On The Death Of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper

Brooks posted the unfortunate news (via TMZ) here on WrestlingNewsWorld.com that "Rowdy" Roddy Piper has died. The story, which was first broke by TMZ, first reported he died on Friday. The publication now reports Piper died in his sleep from cardiac arrest on Thursday night at his home in Hollywood and was discovered on Friday.

He was 61.

Piper was scheduled to appear on Earl Skakel'sThe Inappropriate Earl Podcast on Friday afternoon, an interview that obviously did not happen. Earl, co-host of the Piper's Pit podcast, tweeted this: Click here to load (if not loaded)

TMZ have updated their coverage with this statement from Piper's rep:

"I am devastated at this news. Rod was a good friend as well as a client and one of the most generous, sincere and authentic people I have ever known. This is a true loss to us all."

The publication also quoted a family member:

"Our family is saddened by the sudden passing of our father and beloved husband, Roderick Toombs aka Rowdy Roddy Piper."

Piper was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2006 but said he was cancer free last November and was cancer free at the time of his death. Roddy is survived by his wife Kitty and their 4 kids (3 daughters and 1 son). Piper's son Colt tweeted this: Click here to load (if not loaded)
