One issue we’ve been monitoring this week is in regards to WWE and prominent independent promotions. We noted here on WrestlingNewsWorld.com Premium on Tuesday that WWE doesn’t want ROH piggybacking off of NXT, so in negotiations with buildings, WWE is demanding that if NXT runs there, ROH can’t be allowed to run there as well.
While PWG is also an independent promotion WWE is scouting, they aren’t facing the “lock out” issues since they run the same venues time and time again in Reseda, California. They also don’t run Wrestlemania weekend shows each year and aren’t really on their radar as any sort of nuisance or competitor. It’s just a promotion that William Regal has been directed to watch closely for new NXT talent. ROH, on the other hand, could run into some problems next year.
WWE have put the word out to top guys they’d be interest in signing them in 2016 and between that and potentially getting locked out of several venues, it's going to be a headache for ROH to say the least.
