Unfortunately, due to life and work etc, I wasn’t able to put out my Fantasy Card for Extreme Rules in time, but I am managing to get the Payback Fantasy Card out last minute. As with all previous installments, I can’t change the results from the previous pay per view, and I must use all active wrestlers on the roster. With that, let’s get booking.
Kick Off Show: The Ascension vs. Lucha Dragons
This is really a place holder for the kick off show. Haven’t seen much of Sin Cara and Kalisto, and building them up is important. Wouldn’t mind giving The Ascension some credibility too. These two worked great in NXT, give them some time and creative room, and we could see a great opening match. I know I just replaced Mega Powers 2.0 with Lucha Dragons, and as much as I painfully love the idea of Mega Powers 2.0, it is a huge step back for Damian Sandow again, and I can’t approve of that in my own fantasy booking. Guy has to have his priorities haha. Anyway, Lucha Dragons score a close victory in this one.
Winners - Lucha Dragons
Match #1: Fatal 4-Way Elimination Intercontinental Championship Match - Neville vs. King Barrett vs. Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler
With Daniel Bryan having to relinquish his title again, we need a new champion fast. John Cena has been excellent at restoring prestige to the United States Championship, and we need a long lasting champion to do the same for the Intercontinental Championship. These four men have been going at it and have had their feuds intertwined for some time now. They are the top four guys who should be battling it out for the gold. Have Neville go out first. He is still in his first year on the main roster, and while this would be a huge opportunity, it wouldn’t make sense to put him over yet. Sheamus is the next to go, and he should cost Dolph Ziggler the title to continue their feud. This would leave King Barrett the champion again. My reasoning is Barrett deserves a great title run, he did win the King of The Ring and this would make that win meaningful if he got a solid and confident push; plus, if he holds this title until Daniel Bryan returns, it sets up a great chance for the two to have a historic feud over the title.
Winner - King Barrett (NEW Champion)
Match #2: Luke Harper & Erick Rowan vs. Ryback & ???
Basically, I don’t care for Ryback feuding with Bray Wyatt. Not interested and just shows the true lack of direction for both guys. I do love Harper and Rowan getting back together, as it shows a direction for two guys who had none. This is another filler that could build into something. Just give a simple reason for why these two cult brothers are back together (like they are stronger together or apart blah blah blah), have them attack Ryback to spark the feud, and put them in a tag match. Ryback would then have a mystery partner. The mystery partner wouldn’t matter, because Harper and Rowan would need to go over anyway. For me, I would have Damian Sandow reintroduced to the WWE Universe. A loss wouldn’t hurt, and his character would be set back on the right path. It also gives all four men something to do until more is made available.
Winners - Luke Harper & Erick Rowan
Match #3: WWE Tag Team Championship Match - Tyson Kidd & Cesaro vs. New Day
A standard rematch between the two. Basically, I wouldn’t change anything that WWE has done; except, end the match in a DQ or another way that gives Kidd & Cesaro the win without giving them the titles. This way they can still chase after them, and New Day can continue to build up as heels.
Winners - Tyson Kidd & Cesaro (No Title Change)
Match #4: Kane vs. Dean Ambrose
A huge problem I have with the main event right now is that Kane is the most important part of it, and he isn’t even competing for the title. You could literally replace all the competitors, and the story would remain the same. In this scenario, both Kane and Dean Ambrose are given an incentive to win. If Kane wins he proves his value, and keeps his position in The Authority. If Dean Ambrose wins, Kane is let go from his position and Dean Ambrose becomes the new #1 Contender for the title. This way Kane must do the right thing, by preventing Dean Ambrose from getting a chance at Seth Rollins or lose his job, all the while building Dean Ambrose’s spot in the main event picture. Dean will win, and thus the story of Kane and The Authority can have an interesting twist, and give Dean his main event push that he deserves.
Winner - Dean Ambrose
Match #5: Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns
Bray Wyatt needed a strong feud after coming off facing Undertaker at WrestleMania, and Roman Reigns needs to continue to be built as a worthy top guy. Put these men together in a feud. This keeps Roman Reigns relevant, and out the title picture and Bray Wyatt gets a strong opponent after WrestleMania. Also, with Bray Wyatt’s new face of fear persona, it makes sense for him to target Roman Reigns. A man who is fearless, and challenged Brock Lesnar with no doubt he would win regardless of what was thrown at him. Why would the new face of fear want that kind of man around. Build this feud up and give them a strong rivalry that will carry up till SummerSlam. But Bray would need a win more than Roman Reigns, so the first fall in the feud goes to the new face of fear.
Winner - Bray Wyatt
Match #6: I Quit United States Championship Match - Rusev vs. John Cena
I had to include this because they announced it at Extreme Rules. I personally don’t care for these matches including John Cena because they are too predictable. John Cena shouldn’t drop the title yet, and definetly not to Rusev, but I do have a fun scenario in mind for how it could be done. If Rusev threatened Lana, this would force John Cena’s hand to quitting. He would have to give up the title to save an innocent woman. It would sky rocket Rusev’s heel meter, and really get the fans to hate him. Sadly, that wouldn’t happen, as it would really leave no growth for either man. This feud needs to die, and it ends with Rusev saying he quits.
Winner - John Cena (Retains)
Match #7: Divas Championship Match - Naomi w/ Tamina Snuka vs. Nikki Bella w/ Brie Bella
I wouldn’t change anything regarding this feud. Minus the flip flop of the Bellas, they have been pretty solid in building this up. Naomi deserves the title, and it is time for a change.
Winner - Naomi (NEW Champion)
Match #8: 3 Stages of Hell (Singles/Street Fight/Ladder) - Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins
I love the Fatal 4-Way idea, but I would much rather put a cap on the Rollins/Orton feud and make way for Rollins and Ambrose through the Summer. With this set up, we get a huge main event, without putting any of the superstars in the background. Both men’s feuds with each other get to shine through. I would have Randy Orton gain the first fall, but only by disqualification. Seth Rollins attacking Randy Orton with a chair to injure him for the rest of the match is a classic and smart heel tactic. This way Randy Orton struggles through the Street Fight portion, but ultimately loses to Seth Rollins. The Ladder Match aspect is a great way to cap it off as both men clamor for the title. I would even have Kane come out and throw Seth Rollins a sledge hammer to hit Randy Orton with so he can climb the ladder and win. This would make for an intriguing turn of events, as Kane could win back favor, and Seth would continue to cheat his way to the top. Plus, if their was an added stipulation like The Authority can’t interfere, this would be a smart way around that as Kane wouldn’t have attacked Orton directly.
Winner - Seth Rollins (Retains)
Well that is my Fantasy Card, let me know what you think in the comments below. As always, have a great day.
