While basketball fans are happy to hear the 2011-2012 NBA season has been saved, the same cannot be said for those in WWE. With the news of the NBA lockout ending, all preliminary discussions to feature an appearance by Miami Heat forward LeBron James at Wrestlemania XXVIII next year have ended. While the NBA schedule has not been finalized, King James is not expected to be available.

LeBron, a big wrestling fan, is someone WWE has pursued for years. The hang-up in featuring him at a major pay-per-view has always been the NBA schedule with SummerSlam being one of the few realistic options. WWE had hoped if the 2011-2012 NBA season was canceled, they could secure James for Wrestlemania in Miami (which would have garnered him tremendous babyface support). There have also been ideas of bringing him to Cleveland as a heel although I cannot confirm those ever made it to James.

I'm told one idea pitched was for LeBron James to "guest host" Wrestlemania like The Rock did this year but as I mentioned, those plans have been scrapped.
