When Angelina Love and Velvet Sky reformed The Beautiful People, were you expecting them to be even more vicious and ruthless than ever before owing to Love assaulting Madison Rayne for refusing to rejoin them and Velvet being a former two-time Knockouts Champion?
Certainly! Every time a group reforms, it always brings up past memories of the original group whether that be The New World Order, Degeneration X, The Four Horsemen, Evolution, Main Event Mafia, etc, etc, etc. The Beautiful People are no different. When they reformed, I really thought of the endless segments and situations that TNA Wrestling could do with the group. Sure, they did a lot in the past, but this is a new era with new stars, so it could very well work great. Sadly, the reformation of The Beautiful People never reached that level. The company could have really done great things, but this is another instance of getting our hopes up.
Do you see Ethan Carter III becoming TNA World Heavyweight Champion this year?
There is no doubt in my mind that Ethan Carter III will become TNA World Champion sometime this year. In the past 16 to 18 months, Ethan grew to extraordinary heights. He beat Sting and Kurt Angle. In fact, he is undefeated in single competition. We can get into how wrestling matches are scripted and pre-determined, but the mere fact that TNA made him undefeated for this long really says something. They believe in him. They really want to make him a top talent. Ethan grew so much, and I can only see him growing. I can't picture him going after Lashley or MVP, but I can see Ethan take on some one like Bobby Roode for the TNA World Championship and win it. It is only January. We got plenty of time.
When Low Ki returned to TNA, it was stated that not only was he coming back as a wrestler but also as an agent for the X-Division. Does he have that position right now or has it been forgotten?
Honestly, I do not have that information to clearly state whether Low Ki is an agent in TNA Wrestling; however, there is no doubt in my mind that Low Ki has some influence in the company. Not only is he X-Division Champion, but he is now part of the biggest story on Impact Wrestling. I really didn't see him becoming this big of a factor on the show just 4 months ago. However, it is great to see his talent showcased.
In the future, will TJ Perkins wrestle as himself or will he resume wrestling as Manik?
Truthfully, I have no idea and I know TNA Wrestling has no idea either. Right now they are focused on The Revolution and what to do with Perkins involving that. I remember when he first came to the company, once he and TNA agreed to a contract, they switched from his real life persona to Manik. It frustrated people and I can see why, but it looks like he has more of a direction now than he ever had. Only time will tell where TNA takes him, but I could see them dropping the Manik gimmick after breaking away from The Revolution if they decide to push him to the main event.
Is Velvet Sky truly gone from TNA or is it just an angle?
It looks like Velvet Sky is indeed gone from TNA Wrestling. Anything can be a work in the business, and I wouldn't be surprised if it is one, but I think Velvet's contract was up with TNA Wrestling and both sides couldn't agree to a new deal. Again, it may be an absolute work, but I wouldn't be surprised if Velvet is actually gone either.
