TNA VICTORY ROAD COVERAGE: No Holds Barred Match: Sting vs. Bobby Roode

We get a video package that details the growing animosity between these two men that led to the fake-out retirement of Sting, and eventually this match.

Bobby Roode is the first man to make his way out to the ring for the main event. He heads out slowly, getting a bit of heat from the crowd.

Sting is the next man to make his way out for this match, and he gets a great reception from the crowd. It's worth noting that half of Sting's face is painted in pristine black and white, and the other half is smudged makeup, more like what he's been wearing lately.

JB does formal ring introductions for both men, and it looks like we're finally ready to begin.

The bell rings and Roode and Sting make their way toward each other. Roode jaws at Sting, but Sting just smiles. We get a lock up and Sting backs Roode into the corner. Roode shoves Sting, so Sting slaps Roode across the face. We get another lock up, and Roode goes to work on Sting's arm. Sting is able to fight him off, so Roode bails out to the floor.

Roode makes his way back into the ring slowly. Another lock up, and Roode locks in a side head lock before both men trade holds. Roode eats a shoulder block from Sting, and a chop to the throat before Sting hip tosses him across the rope. Sting misses a Stinger splash, but he's able to catch himself and hit a big dropkick that sends the champ out to the floor.

Roode waves Sting off and heads toward the back, but Sting charges after him with a big running clothesline on the ramp. Sting lays Roode out on the ramp again with a big right hand. Sting takes Roode back toward the ring, slamming him head first into the ring steps.

Sting slams Roode head first into the ringside barricade, before taking him around the ring, and slamming him into the barricade again, for the viewing pleasure of the fans on the other side of the ring. Roode tries to send Sting head first into the ring steps, but Sting blocks it and slams Roode's face into the ring steps.

Sting continues the assault, slamming Roode into the barricade again. Roode fights back, slamming Sting face first into the apron before positioning him against the ring post. Roode grabs a chair and swings, but Sting ducks. Sting grabs Roode and slams him into the barricade yet again, much to the delight of the crowd. Sting heads to the apron and leaps off with a double axe handle that sends Roode over the rail and out into the crowd.

Sting brings things back into the ring, but Roode catches him with a cheap shot. Roode pulls Sting over to the corner and wraps his leg around the corner ring post. Roode assaults the leg again, whipping it against the post. Roode heads back into the ring and stomps away at the knees of the Icon. Roode elbow drops Sting's knee, then does it again before simply wrenching away.

Sting gets back to his feet, but Roode takes him out from behind with a chop block. Roode sets Sting's leg on the bottom rope and jumps down on top of it. Roode kicks away at the knees of Sting before chopping away at him in the corner. Sting retreats across the ring and Roode follows. Sting blocks a punch and begins fighting back. Sting blocks a hip toss and counters into a back slide. Roode charges and delivers a dropkick to Sting's leg.

Roode stomps at Sting's legs and ankles before stepping over into a figure four leg lock. Roode pulls back, putting pressure on Sting's legs.

Sting struggles, even letting his shoulders drop down to the mat. Sting attempts to turn Roode over and reverse the hold. Sting turns himself over and Roode makes it to the ropes and breaks the hold. Roode makes his way back to his feet and turns right back to the knees, stomping away at Sting. Roode hits the Icon with another chop block, clipping him from behind. Roode goes for the figure four again, but Sting is able to roll Roode up for a two count. Roode hits Sting with a big chop, then another, but Sting is unfazed.

Sting screams in Roode's face, hitting him with punches, then clotheslines. Sting whips Roode into the ropes and hits a back body drop. Sting kicks at the backs of Roode's legs. Sting whips Roode across the ring and hits a big Stinger splash. Sting goes for another splash, but he misses and crashes in the corner. Roode heads up to the top, but Sting stops him with a right hand. Sting heads up to the top after Roode, hitting a giant superplex.

Sting clamps on the Scorpion deathlock right in the middle of the ring. Roode raises his hand, but he doesn't tap. He's able to make it to the ropes to force Sting to break the hold.

Roode rolls to the apron and hangs Sting up across the ropes throat first. Roode hits a spear and goes for the pin, getting a two count. Roode struggles to get to his feet, looking frustrated. Roode heads to the outside and looks under the ring, grabbing a steel chair. Roode slides back into the ring and grabs the chair, setting it up in the middle of the ring. Roode heads over to Sting and goes for a powerbomb, but Sting fights it off. Sting back drops Roode to the apron and catches him with a nasty right hand. Sting hits a scorpion death drop, but Sting drops the back of his own head on the chair that Roode had set up. Roode drapes his arm over Sting, and gets the three count.

Winner: Bobby Roode

Following the match, Roode sends Hebner flying from the ring and through the ropes to the outside. Roode heads over to Dixie, who's sitting in the front row. He grabs a chair that's laying at her feet and stares at her for a while before heading back to the ring. He slides the ring in the chair, then turns around and grabs Dixie, sliding her into the ring.

Dixie begs off, trying to avoid Roode. Roode screams at Dixie to look at Sting and shut her mouth. Dixie continues to try and back away. Sting is back on his feet, and he fights Roode off, sending him to the outside. Sting turns his attention to Dixie, and that allows Roode to come in from behind with a wicked chair shot to the back.

Roode seats Sting in the corner and goes under the ring again, grabbing a roll of duct tape. Roode tapes Sting's arms to the ropes, incapacitating him. Dixie rips at the tape, but Roode grabs her by the hair. Roode pulls Dixie over to the other side of the ring, and tells her to kiss his a**. Roode grabs the chair, and goes over to the corner, but Dixie shields Sting with her body.

Roode tosses the chair away and asks Dixie if she likes him. She tells her to look at Sting. He wipes some of the paint off of Sting's face and wipes it on to Dixie's. Roode tells Dixie that there's nothing she can do. The PPV ends with Dixie begging Roode to stop, and Roode pacing around the ring angrily.
