DeMott resigned last Friday from WWE after a meeting with Triple H in Ohio. - While we cannot confirm him at the venue at press time, Wrestling News World has learned that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is still scheduled to appear live on this week’s Monday Night Raw in Pittsburgh, PA.

An updated promotional blurb on WWE.com seemed to reiterate this:

Evidently in possession of The Undertaker’s urn, Bray Wyatt has promised to "unleash its spirit" on Raw tonight. What message will The New Face of Fear send to The Phenom? Plus, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar returns to Raw and rap sensation Wiz Khalifa performs live!

We reported on Saturday here at WrestlingNewsWorld.com that Lesnar was being promoted as to appearing live on this week’s show. His status has remained a question mark since he stormed off in Nashville, TN a couple of weeks ago and showed up at UFC 184 in Las Vegas the following week.

We’ve been continually reassured Lesnar was still a lock for the Wrestlemania 31 main event against Roman Reigns and it looks like that will take its next stop forward on this week’s Raw broadcast.

For exclusive details on Brock’s unhappiness with WWE -- including behind-the-scenes details on him storming off -- see the link below:

This match has been in the works for weeks and the official announcement is nothing more than a formality. You can read the official match preview at this link

We first heard of plans to do the match a couple weeks ago but wondered if it was in doubt due to AJ Lee’s Tweets to Stephanie McMahon. She ended up returning and her plans were resumed.

- Stardust has officially been added to the WWE Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match at WrestleMania 31. Bad News Barrett will defend the title against R-Truth, Dean Ambrose, Luke Harper, Dolph Ziggler, and Stardust. It's worth mentioning the graphic on dot com only shows room for six participants, and Daniel Bryan was expected to be added to the match, but still has not as of this writing. - This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw garnered an average viewing audience of 3,858,667 viewers on the USA Network. This was up +33,667 viewers from the week prior. Raw was the highest rated cable original, scoring a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating. TV by the Numbers has data for the top 100 cable shows in adults 25-54 for the whole day at this link. Below is how the show did each hour: Hour one - 3,699,000 viewers Hour two - 3,937,000 viewers Hour three - 3,940,000 viewers The good sign here is the show gained audience each hour, totaling a gain of +241,000 viewers from hour one to hour three. News & notes from this week's Smackdown taping in Detroit, Michigan... - Daniel Bryan was officially added to the Ladder Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. He'll join Bad News Barrett (c) vs. R-Truth vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Stardust in the match. - Mark Henry returned in a segment with Roman Reigns that will air on Thursday's broadcast. We wrote Henry was expected back soon last week on WrestlingNewsWorld.com Premium. - Randy Orton did not appear in front of the live crowd and instead, a pre-taped video interview was teased. The interview didn't air at any point during the taping so it will be inserted in post-production. One of the promotional points for this week's Smackdown is the "return" of Orton. - There are more allegations against Bill DeMott that have made their way online via another leaked email that was posted on Reddit. While the leaked email doesn’t say who wrote it, speculation within the thread suggests it’s former WWE developmental Diva/TNA Knockout Trenesha Biggers. Tommy Dreamer’s name gets brought into all this as the person details time spent in Deep South Wrestling. You can read the thread at this link. Please note I’m simply posting the link sent to us. I am not endorsing or validating anything stated. It’s out there and given the heat DeMott has been under, I found it worth posting. - Travel packages to SummerSlam 2015 are available on Wednesday. WWE posted frequently asked questions at this link and Terms & Conditions at this link. - WWE is seeking fans to take part in their Wrestlemania Music Video Project. CLICK HERE for details. - The stock of Konnor & Viktor — known collectively as The Ascension — is very much on the decline. The duo were called up to the main roster on the December 29, 2014 episode of Monday Night Raw after a series of vignettes to promote them. Despite drawing very little crowd reaction, they were put over on TV, live events and pay-per-view. They even went over The New Age Outlaws at Royal Rumble. Over the past two weeks, Konnor & Viktor have gone under on WWE’s secondary programming, losing to The Usos at the March 3, 2015 Main Event taping, Kalisto & Sin Cara at Monday’s WWE Superstars taping and The Prime Time Players at Tuesday’s Main Event taping. It’s safe to say they’re more in the category of Adam Rose as a developmental gimmick that hasn’t translated to the main roster. - While Randy Orton did not work this week’s Smackdown taping in front of the live crowd, he did team with Roman Reigns to beat Kane & Big Show in the dark match main event. See also - Daniel Bryan’s WM31 Match, Big Return, Where Was Orton? As noted here on Wrestling News World, an Orton interview is expected to be included on this week’s episode of Smackdown that was taped on Tuesday from the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. - There was a talent meeting at this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Pittsburgh, PA. There is nothing groundbreaking to report, one of the key topics discussed was regarding issues from talent, both internal and external. The message was “the door is always open,” so if someone has a comment or concern, come to them and not anyone else. - There was a separate meeting between Brock Lesnar, Vince McMahon and Triple H but what was said is unknown. Obviously the buzz following Paul Heyman’s promo [on Raw] is that a new deal has been signed but we can’t confirm that. However, why would they allow Heyman to mention UFC if they didn’t plan on retaining the services of Lesnar? While almost everyone feels like Lesnar is departing after Wrestlemania 31, McMahon has remained confident he’ll be able to get a deal done. Once again, we can’t confirm an extension at press time. - The idea behind altering Sting’s voice in the pre-taped promo was to bring back something that was utilized in the mid-90s. One observer commented they didn’t know what the issue was with getting Sting in the ring with a live mic but it is what it is. - We wrote about The Ascension failing on the main roster on Wednesday on the free site. Just to reiterate what we’ve already written, we’re told their push is dead. As for tag teams at Wrestlemania 31, we’re expecting a match involving four teams, likely including Cesaro & Tyson Kidd defending the WWE Tag Team Championship. - WWE Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett, who missed a large chunk of time last year with a shoulder injury, was banged up coming out of this week’s Smackdown taping in Detroit. I don’t believe a serious injury occurred, as it sounded more like general soreness. - I spoke to someone that was at Smackdown on Tuesday and got the following notes:

    • Why is Bray Wyatt working Zack Ryder on WWE Main Event while preparing for a match against The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 31?
    • Roman Reigns got heat from the crowd in Detroit, which was accentuated when he “attacked” Mark Henry
    • Finn Balor t-shirts were the first thing sold out at the taping

    - Dr. Tom Prichard, who Bill DeMott replaced as head WWE trainer in 2012, Tweeted the following about the recent allegations that resulted in DeMott leaving the company:

U know, with all the allegations coming out from not just a couple, but a LOT of people, you'd think there would have been a more thorough investigation... For Christ's sake, a PICTURE is worth 1000 words! How in the hell does anyone justify or defend that? I can't imagine the incredible arrogance, incompetence and outright "don't give a damn, I'm the boss and I'm going to run this place 'my way" attitude is unbelievable. One, two, maybe five disgruntled employees I can see... But more and more are coming forward every day! It's not like no one knew!!! Why wasn't something done a long time ago? Hell, why was he even hired to come back and train anybody in the first place? Replace me, OK. I did call Canyon Semen a "Flaming F'N Asshole" to his face and for that I probably should have been fired. Using the excuse of not having a one year start to finish curriculum was a rib, but I get it. But when a talent(s) sends a confidential email and you claim to do a "full investigation" when in fact you didn't, then why isn't someone asking the question "Hey Canyon! Just who did you talk to, what did you ask them and by the way, what did you think of the picture of Gallows with a jelly doughnut in his ass giving Ryder the stink face??" Was THAT in YOUR goddam curriculum? I've remained silent but I have a lot to say. When the time's right. But the more shit I see, the more pissed I get. They can't claim ignorance. Stupidity, yes. But there were people in key positions who knew about his past and chose to ignore it. Why? You can read the original Tweet below: Click here to load (if not loaded)
    - WWE posted an excerpt of Michael Cole’s sit down interview with Randy Orton that will air on this week’s episode of Smackdown on YouTube. In it, Orton talked about attacking Seth Rollins on this week's episode of Raw. You can watch at this link. As noted, you can watch the complete interview on Smackdown. Expect for this to progress quickly as Orton vs. Rollins is clearly in the plans for Wrestlemania 31. As we’ve noted a few times, Orton didn’t appear live on this week’s Smackdown taping but did work as a babyface in the dark match main event. This interview was filmed backstage at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Our complete Smackdown preview is online at this link. - Hornswoggle Tweeted this to Stephanie McMahon: Click here to load (if not loaded)

The new name that can be added to the list is Rockstar Spud as the Vice President of the company, John Gaburick broke the news on his official Twitter account earlier. Below is his tweet:

    Hornswoggle Tweet

What is interesting is that on April 16, 2014, TNA Wrestling released a video of Dixie Carter and Rockstar Spud and the video had Spud receive a multi-year contract with the company. That was less than a year ago from today.

Brock is not budging on issues with his merchandise and he wants a large annual guarantee for it going forward. We’re told Vince McMahon is “dead set against it” and it’s unknown who is going to blink first.

Lesnar wants to put WWE in a position where they have to push his merchandise so they don't lose on his guarantee. Vince is adamant that he’s not going to start having downside guarantees for merchandise, not even for Brock.

It's a philosophical issue that has them butting heads and it doesn't look like either side will back down. Vince has a rep for being stubborn, but those close to him don't believe he's fighting this one out of spite or ego.

He's never guaranteed anybody millions in merchandise money before and he doesn't want to start now.

    - There were developments and updates to the Wrestlemania 31 card on this week’s episode of Smackdown.

As we noted shortly after it was taped, Daniel Bryan will participate in the Ladder Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. We first broke the news earlier this month here on Wrestling News World Premium.

In an exclusive interview with Michael Cole, Randy Orton revealed he intends to challenge Seth Rollins to a match at Wrestlemania on next week’s Monday Night Raw in Des Moines, IA.

Another match in development is one for the WWE Tag Team Championship. We wrote about that earlier here at Wrestling News World.

We’ve also learned a casting company in San Francisco is casting males to work as “marching Russian soldiers,” presumably for the entrance of WWE United States Champion Rusev.

    - The Miz, Curtis Axel, Ryback, Fandango, Adam Rose, Zack Ryder, Jack Swagger, Titus O'Neil, Darren Young, Big Show, Kane, Erick Rowan, Damien Mizdow, and Sin Cara.

Wrestlemania 31 will take place Sunday, March 29, 2015 from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. We’ll have complete coverage here at WrestlingNewsWorld.com.

    - WWE has noted top executives will receive an increase in their base pay for 2015. Vince McMahon’s base salary will increase to $1.25 million and Triple H to $577,500.

Kevin Dunn, George Barrios and Michael Luisi are all getting raises. The raises do not include the value of WWE shares owned or annual incentive bonuses calculated based on performance.

Additionally, WWE will hold their annual shareholders meeting on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the Hilton Stamford Hotel. Please note this is a business meeting, for shareholders, and not an entertainment event.

    - While Vince McMahon is refusing to budge on offering Brock Lesnar a guarantee on his merchandise, he has been more likely to cave on lesser issues than in the past.

One example involves Kevin Nash. For months, Vince was adamant that if Nash wanted to go into the WWE Hall of Fame that he needed to go in as Diesel. Nash refused and was willing to sit out the Hall of Fame rather than go in under the character like Scott Hall did as Razor Ramon last year.

Vince eventually caved and the plan is to induct Nash as part of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2015.

The plan is still to induct the nWo in one of the upcoming classes, which is why Vince wanted to induct Razor Ramon and Diesel first as those characters and then Hall and Nash later as part of the faction.

In fact, we’re told Vince wanted Nash to starting growing out his hair months ago, dye it, etc. so he could go in as Diesel. Kevin wasn’t a fan and didn't want to do it.

Speaking of Roberts, he’s upset with WWE for pulling a highlight reel of his career from YouTube. He wrote the following on his Instagram account:

At the end of my 12 year relationship, there were a lot of things about work that made it hard to want to get on those planes. But on the night that we didn't renew my contract- I left the building and they told me the door was always open. I chose to walk the opposite direction and move on. I left out the negativity in my heart and wrote a positive goodbye and was on my way into the next chapter. The company sent me footage and I put together a reel featuring much of that footage since that's where I was, almost daily for over a decade. My reel was out there and maybe I'd go where the wind blew, but today they pulled that reel off of YouTube. Despite countless hours of their copyrighted YouTube footage uploaded by others, my 5 min reel of my work is pulled. Maybe their legal department isn't busy enough? #BeA(Star emoticon)

Mysterio was freed from his WWE contract last month, while Roberts departed in October 2014. - UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis stated that CM Punk will accompany him to the octagon for his fight against Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 185 on Saturday, March 14, 2014 from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Pettis and Punk train together at the Roufusport MMA Academy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Pettis confirmed the news in an interview with Inside MMA - Alberto El Patron — the former Alberto Del Rio — has a quadriceps injury. Patron reportedly suffered the injury last week in Mexico but he worked Friday for Northeast Wrestling in Waterbury, CT. Patron was limited but teamed with Matt Hardy to face The Young Bucks. He was originally scheduled to face Hardy in a singles match. Hardy worked the majority of the match and an injury angle was done. He Tweeted this: Click here to load (if not loaded)

What are your thoughts on Roman Reigns lately? It seems to me like he is really starting to expand his move set and each week he is getting better and better.

Roman Reigns is still polarizing — some people love him and others hate him - but my position is that he’ll be fine for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at Wrestlemania 31. At this point I believe the status of Brock Lesnar is more of a controversy than Roman Reigns and hopefully that controversy will be resolved after this week’s Monday Night Raw concludes. If not, at least we’ll know the status of Brock’s relationship with WWE by the time the day is over.

Reigns is still very much “in development” but from what I have seen on TV and the reviews he gets on the road, he continues to improve. That doesn’t mean there still isn’t a segment of the WWE audience that feels they’re being force-fed Reigns, because there is, but that is the minority. I hope by this time next year Reigns is a bonafide WWE main event talent. Not only him but others such as Rusev, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt and more. Seth Rollins is already there and is the 1a of the former Shield faction.

Last week you said the #Axelmania gimmick would be just a comedy gimmick and nothing more, but don't you think Axel is getting the same treatment Damien Sandow got, resulting in at least one title reign for one of the secondary belts?

When people ask me about the future of a particular worker, it’s important to remember that I am not a physic. I simply consider how the talent is being booked and how the crowd is reacting.

When asked about Axel last Wednesday, I explained how he was booked under to Fandango at the Main Event taping the night before. What was especially damning about that was WWE had just used John Cena to bury Fandango on the mic on last week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.

The success of a gimmick like #Axelmania is not predicated on wins and losses but the fact he was going under to a talent already seen as a failure, I found telling. Based on reports I heard over the weekend, #Axelmania is getting some love. Is it enough to give him a mid-card push? We can’t rule it out but I still see this is a shell of what was first intended for the third generation superstar.

What type of contract does Rhyno have with WWE? Cant we expect him back to the main roster?

I am under the assumption Rhyno does not have a contract with WWE but is just working on per shot deals. Total transparency, no one has told me that, but he’s continued to work the independent circuit while also appearing on WWE NXT. This past weekend, he worked the NXT live event in Cleveland but also Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore show in Philadelphia.

Brian Kendrick, another former WWE talent brought back for NXT, has also continued to make his independent commitments. It’s always possible they have some type of deal and WWE is approving their bookings but I would be surprised if that was the case.

There are currently no plans for either Rhyno or Kendrick on the main roster and they’ve been brought back solely for NXT, however, it indicates a good relationship with WWE.

Is it just me or is WWE messing up Randy Orton's return with him rejoining The Authority? Shouldn’t he be trying to screw Seth Rollins and not help him beat Roman Reigns?

I heard some criticism about the way Randy Orton has been booked last week and I agree with you. Instead of this pseudo-babyface booking, why not just align him directly opposite Seth Rollins to maximize the reactions for both? I understand Orton will never be an all out babyface — in fact he doesn’t like working as a babyface — but his booking right now is nothing short of confusing. I understand what WWE is trying to do but I believe this is a case where less is more and traditional booking would probably work better.

Orton is already a babyface on live events so they need to go ahead and give him a complete turn on TV.

April 2013: Is the WWE Performance Center a copy of WCW’s Power Plant? - The WWE Performance Center is the WCW Power Plant on steroids. Having a developmental facility is nothing new and something that has been done for decades. What is new is how impressive WWE’s new facility will be. The WWE Performance Center, located in Orlando, Florida, is 26,000-square-feet and will feature seven wrestling rings in addition to its own strength-and-conditioning and physical-therapy areas. Not only will the facility be used to train up and coming talent but it will be a place where injured and rehabbing stars can go to prepare for their return. The pet project of Triple H, the WWE Performance Center is truly game-changing (pun intended).

Is cutting off Paul Heyman's microphone off a work or are they really doing that?

A lot of readers have wondered whether or not Paul Heyman’s mic going dead is part of the script and it is. The promo on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw was of the worked shoot variety, meaning it was pre-planned but there were legitimate elements intertwined to keep people asking questions like you just asked. The same thing happened last week.

What I’m wondering is if Vince McMahon came in like a snake and got an extension with Brock Lesnar done. While we’re under the assumption that Lesnar legitimately walked out a couple weeks ago, would it surprise anyone if it was a work? I wouldn’t be surprised for a couple reasons. One, WWE wants people guessing about Brock Lesnar and two, Vince loves to toy with Dana White.

That may not be the case and Brock may have intentionally shown up at UFC 184 in a three-piece suit to toy with Vince but I at least think it needs to be mentioned it could be the other way around.

Is Brock Lesnar giving enough? Is it just me, or is coming down to the ring, posing and leaving after 10 minutes just not enough to build up the main event of Wrestlemania?

It’s not just you, I’ve heard this from several readers. As if people weren’t disappointed enough with Brock Lesnar and his limited schedule, the disappointment and frustration only increases when he’s very limited when he does show up. In fact, the discussion in the post highlighting Heyman’s promo features readers venting frustrations about Lesnar.

I don’t have a problem with Brock Lesnar but I do have a problem with him holding the WWE World Heavyweight Championship as a part-time talent. At this point I just want him to drop the belt at Wrestlemania 31, I’ll be fine with him re-signing or leaving WWE, as long as the company can bring their title back to relevance.

Is it time we consider Paul Heyman the greatest manager of all time? His mic work is unbelievable! The promo from Raw gave me goosebumps last night.

Paul Heyman is a great manager and one of the best talkers of all time, I don’t know if we can consider him the best manager of all time because his success has been limited to enhancing already established Superstars. When paired with talent where he’s tasked with getting them over, it hasn’t worked out so well. However, I absolutely believe he’s one of the best talkers of all time and there are very few on his level and he’s right up there with greats like Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin and The Rock.

We know Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns and Sting vs Triple H makes up two out of the three of the main events at Wrestlemania 31. But which match is the third? Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins, Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt, or John Cena vs. Rusev?

If I had to make a list of Wrestlemania 31 main events I would list them as follows - Lesnar vs. Reigns, Sting vs. Hunter, Undertaker vs. Wyatt, Cena vs. Rusev and Orton vs. Rollins. They’re all considered “main events” and me listing them doesn’t mean anything. It doesn’t mean the ones at the top will get more time or anything of the sorts, it’s just my personal assessment of the Wrestlemania 31 card.

Is it just me or did WWE make a huge mistake by having Rusev tap out out in the STF on this week’s Monday Night Raw?

It’s not just you, Rusev tapping out in the STF on free TV is mind-boggling. They’ve put so much time and so many resources into developing Rusev as the unstoppable monster only to have him tap out on free TV on the way to the biggest match of his career? I understand what they were going for. They wanted Rusev to look beatable — like Cena would have a shot — but I diametrically oppose him tapping out on free TV under any circumstance.

Now, WWE has quite the booking quandary on their hands. As if it wasn’t going to be hard enough to book Cena vs. Rusev II, now they are faced with the reality of Rusev being completely buried with a loss to Cena.

The reason many people have called Rusev this year’s Bray Wyatt is because he’s in the John Cena program at Wrestlemania. Wyatt was supposed to be elevated in the program with Cena in ’14 but it didn’t even matter that he ended up beating Cena after Wrestlemania, he went cold and WWE basically had to start from scratch.

WWE could have told their generic Cena “overcome the odds” story over Rusev this year but now I believe a Rusev win is going to be needed if they plan on him working in the main event into the spring and summer of 2015.

Does Daniel Bryan seem utterly lost heading into Wrestlemania 31? Is there any chance at all he doesn’t get the thrust into the Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship and instead gets a singles matches his own?

Daniel Bryan is still over like rover but he’s clearly out of the main event picture for Wrestlemania this year. I know there’s a lot of debate about that but it is what it is and Daniel Bryan is tasked with stealing the show on the undercard. Basically, the options are Bryan being in the Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship (the plan that was in place as of last week) or the original plan of a singles match against a returning Sheamus.

Since we’ve seen Bryan vs. Sheamus twice at Wrestlemania, I’d rather him get a shot in the Ladder Match. Daniel Bryan told IGN he would love to be in the match and it would give Bryan a chance to shine. If we can’t have a Money in the Bank Ladder match, I guess this is the next best thing. But if you want my personal opinion, it’s a travesty that Bryan is set to be working this low on the card and they’re relying on the likes of Brock Lesnar, Undertaker, Triple H and Sting in 2015. WWE has got to start taking more longer-term approach if they want to create new top talent.

Realistically, what are the chances that Samoa Joe ends up in WWE? And wouldn’t he better better-suited for NXT?

Samoa Joe himself has confirmed that WWE is interested in his services. From what I’ve been told and reported here on WrestlingNewsWorld.com Premium, WWE wants to run him through a tryout and evaluate him first before offering him a contract. That tryout is currently scheduled for April. It’s hard to say how likely it is that Joe comes to WWE. I’ve thought he should have been there for years but if he gets signed, will they utilize him correctly? Obviously he’s better-suited for NXT because that’s where he can show off what really makes him special but I don’t know what that would look like. If you want to talk about who TNA misused the most, Joe has to be at the top of the list.

I tried to get tickets from the SummerSlam pre-sale over the weekend. When will be my next chance?

WWE only released 15% of SummerSlam tickets over the weekend and there will be another presale beginning on Wednesday at 10 AM EDT at this link. We’ll have the presale before it opens and tickets go on sale to the general public on Saturday at 10 AM EDT.

Now that Randy Orton has finally turned on Seth Rollins, what’s the next step to build their match at Wrestlemania 31? Was the slow burn the correct way to do it?

I didn’t like the slow burn and as I explained in Monday’s Ask WNW, it was time to just get it over with. It would be one thing if we didn’t know the plans for Orton but we’ve known for almost 4 months the plan was for Orton to go babyface and feud with Seth Rollins. It felt like the writers were trying to get cute with the slow burn and it did nothing but add an unneeded element of confusion. Now, WWE is going to have to turn up the physicality to sell Orton vs. Rollins and consider the possibility of Rollins taking out Orton and “cashing in” at Wrestlemania 31.

Who goes over at Wrestlemania 31 - Randy Orton or Seth Rollins?

While WWE has not yet announced Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins for Wrestlemania 31, it is expected to be added to the card. The bout does pose another complex booking situation. It’s Orton’s first pay-per-view bout in 5 months and WWE will want to capitalize on his momentum as a babyface.

Meanwhile, Seth Rollins has broken out as WWE’s top heel and if he “does the honors,” will he still be perceived as a threat to “cash in” later in the night?

The fact Rollins holds the Money in the Bank briefcase should be considered every time he is booked. I don’t think it would be the worst thing if Orton went over, as long as WWE handled it tactfully and didn’t completely destroy Rollins in the process. Like we talked about last week, a worker can be elevated in a loss (Steve Austin going under to Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 13) and if done correctly, WWE can keep Orton’s momentum going without killing off Rollins.

I do believe the build needs to continue to be very physical and a gimmick could be in order.

What do you make of Wiz Khalifa implying that he was high on marijuana when he performed at Raw?

I am pretty sure Wiz Khalifa is known for being an advocate for marijuana, similar to what Rob Van Dam is in pro wrestling, so I wasn’t surprised at all. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal and I doubt WWE cares. In fact, marijuana is classified differently than other substances in the WWE Wellness Policy and a positive marijuana test does not merit a Wellness violation or count towards a suspension. The following is from the WWE Wellness Policy: Substance Abuse & Drug Testing Policy

In the event of any positive test for marijuana, the WWE Talent shall be fined Two Thousand Five Hundred US Dollars ($2,500.00) per positive test, which shall be deducted from the WWE Talent’s downside guarantee.

We have seen a few Divas matches since the #GiveDivasAChance movement started. Do you feel it's coincidence that the matches appear to be better worked? Note: This is mainly directed at Brie vs AJ. Aside from Summer Rae's trainwreck of a performance on Raw, the match appeared to have more time dedicated along with a second divas match and the appearance of a stable.

The Divas have gotten some more time — specifically AJ Lee vs. Brie Bella — as it was the longest match on last week’s episode of WWE Smackdown but I am still not optimistic going forward. Forgive my pessimism but it’s going to take some time for WWE to prove they really want to #GiveDivasAChance and that it’s not just another work to cater to what Vince McMahon calls the vocal minority.

Do you have any update on Brock Lesnar after Wrestlemania 31?

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is booked for the Raw after Wrestlemania 31 but I do not have an update beyond that. I know more than a few people found it interesting how Paul Heyman referenced UFC in his promo on Monday Night Raw. Could it mean that Brock has signed a new contract? What about Brock doing both?

I can’t confirm a new contract and I can tell you WWE isn’t on board with the idea of Brock working for them and fighting for UFC. While sources indicated at one point WWE would allow for Brock to take a UFC fight if they controlled the opponent, that ship seems to have sailed.

The whole situation is just so bizarre. While some will argue that Brock Lesnar is a megastar for WWE and a major draw, I’m beginning to see him as a liability. It’s time for a full-time talent to win the belt and defend it regularly. If Vince is still hellbent on paying Lesnar millions to control his services, so be it, but just not at the expense of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

    From the Ask WNW vault…

November 2007: What’s going to happen with Ric Flair’s retirement? - I talked with someone within WWE late yesterday and they told me that the plan right now is for the Ric Flair retirement angle to continue all of the way to WrestleMania in March. This would mean that Flair would not lose a match until the big pay-per-view (which became rather obvious when he pinned the WWE Champion on RAW Monday). As with anything in WWE, these plans could change several times before March, however, it is believed that Flair will work his last match ever at WrestleMania 24 in Orlando, Florida.

How would you book the Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt match at Wrestlemania? It would be hard to see The Deadman lose again but the win would really elevate Wyatt.

There are two issues up for consideration when booking Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt at Wrestlemania 31 - Undertaker’s legacy and Bray Wyatt’s future. The goal is to preserve the former and enhance the latter. I can’t make a good argument for Undertaker beating Bray Wyatt but it’s certainly not a match that I would like to book.

A second consecutive loss could make it look like Undertaker is now inferior but it could also provide an opportunity to prove Bray Wyatt is the future. With that said, if Bray Wyatt can do it, what makes what Brock Lesnar did so special? It’s complex and there isn’t an easy answer.

Wyatt winning dirty would probably be the best case scenario and ensure him an optimal heel reaction without burying The Undertaker and his legacy. It’s not often I am OK with a dirty finish — especially at Wrestlemania - but I can’t justify Undertaker over Wyatt or Undertaker losing clean two years in a row.

Why and how did "kayfabe" die? Also, do you ever think it will go back to the way it used to be and possibly be "reborn", so to speak?

I don’t think kayfabe is dead, not by a long-shot. If it was, WWE wouldn’t be able to do the type of articles they do on their official website nor would their sit down interviews conducted by Michael Cole be so effective. Kayfabe has changed because technology has evolved but it’s absolutely still there.

Things are never going to go back to the pre-Internet/pre-social media era, where there is a high degree of mystique and a low level of transparency, but WWE has already shown they can use the aforementioned elements to enhance their business. It’s still possible to surprise fans and work even the smartest fan. All that is required is effort and when the effort is there, even people such as myself will appreciate it.

With all the controversy surrounding the Divas division as of late, do you think it would add any legitimacy if the WWE were to redesign the Divas title belt? Get away from the pink butterfly design to maybe something more "serious" like the NXT women's title?

Remember when WWE brought back the white Intercontinental Championship belt? It looks great but until WWE makes a philosophical change with the way it’s booked, it will continue to be a meaningless prop. The same is true for the Divas Championship. It doesn’t matter what the belt looks like or even what it's called, as long as the Divas are in short and forgettable matches, the title isn’t going to mean much. Like I talked about earlier in the week, WWE is giving us some hope but not enough for me to be optimistic they are about to #GiveDivasaChance.

I finally bought an XBox One and while watching WWE Fastlane, I had nothing but problems. Constant freezing and even kicking it off. Is this an issue because WWE gave away a month free or does the XBox One just not capable? I never had this issue with my XBox 360.

I have not heard many complaints from Xbox One users but I believe you’ll just have to troubleshoot the issue with WWE Network technical support. It could be a number of things causing you problems and obviously without seeing what it’s doing, it would be impossible for me to help you.

I am not aware of there being a problem with WWE Network on Xbox One but since I don’t have one, I can’t say for sure. I can tell you — and anyone else reading — I have had very few technical support issues with the WWE Network. The only time I have an issue with freezing is when I am streaming in a web browser and I have multiple browsers open and begin typing in them. Even then, the Network has worked relatively well for me for the past year and counting.

October 2007: I plan on becoming a professional wrestler soon. I'm going to start training in June/July of 2009. When I think I'm ready and when other people agree with me being ready how would I get the attention of the WWE Scouts? I'm in North Carolina and I know that one way is to befriend a WWE Superstar and when they think you are ready they will try and get you a tryout match. How can I get the attention of WWE Scouts when I am ready for a tryout opportunity? - First off I would like to congratulate you on making the decision of becoming a professional wrestler. There is only one proven way to get noticed by WWE and that is by making a name for yourself on the independent wrestling circuit. Making contacts and establishing relationships are a big part of it but if you have good enough skills you need to get the attention of some of the top independent wrestling promotions in the United States. WWE routinely scopes out the bigger independent promotions (example Ring of Honor) and will bring top wrestlers in for tryout matches and if you are lucky enough you will get a developmental contract. I recommend enrolling in a proven wrestling school first, this will help you make contacts and get some bookings. There is some luck involved but if you are determined, your goal will be accomplished. Good luck!
