Wyatt Vs. Taker

Since Bray Wyatt has called out Undertaker for a match at WrestleMania 31, I thought I'd go ahead and make this article.

With the right execution this could be one of the top matches at WrestleMania. These are both excellent competitors, and have both definitely proved that over the years. One of the only differences is that Undertaker has undoubtedly had way more history in the ring. He will no doubt be in the Hall of Fame, following some of his main rivalries in Taker's career including names such as Kane and Mankind. If Bray Wyatt can pull of a good performance in this match, it would most likely earn him a spot in the Hall of Fame.

If Undertaker were to lose in the match at WrestleMania, if there is a match at all, it'd be for one and one purpose only: To push Bray Wyatt. This would boost him up to one of the top competitors, if he performed well enough. This would without a doubt enhance Wyatt as a performer overall. He's definitely proven he's a great wrestler, but with this push, Bray would be close to somewhere at the top of the roster, unless WWE runs into a brick wall and they have Bray end up as just another jobber.

However, if Bray were to be the one to lose in this, one of two things could happen. The first is that, it could be a part time return of the Undertaker. He could help push certain talent if he stayed long enough. The other possibility would be to shut Wyatt down, and ultimately push Lesnar. This would show that it is only Lesnar who is the only one who can defeat The Undertaker, which he has already proven. Doing so would probably result in Lesnar going over in the main event, (which is highly unlikely) continuing to be the unstoppable beast.

If Wyatt won, this could even generate a storyline between Wyatt and Lesnar. That is, if Lesnar doesn't leave after WrestleMania, which he has the option to do at this point. Yet, those chances have been dropping, as he stormed out of Raw unsatisfied. Undertaker will probably just stay for the WrestleMania, and then leave again. We can't tell at this point what will happen, but I can assure you, when we near WrestleMania, the storyline will become much much more clearer.

Personally, I don't like the idea of this match. The streak was supposed to be one of the main things that fans look forward to at WrestleMania, but since Lesnar has defeated the streak, there's no point. Yes, Wyatt mentioned that Taker is weak because of his loss last year at WM 30, but this would ultimately dampen the effect that ending the streak had. It could, and probably will, show that two people could have possibly defeated 'Taker's streak, ultimately destroying the value of what the streak was. I personally thought, if Seth Rollins wasn't set to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania, then Orton would be the one that Bray was calling out. I think that match would be more believable, since Orton has lost more than once at WrestleMania. It would be a great match in my eyes.

One of the recent articles stated about bringing the American Badass Undertaker back. I personally don't mind either way which Taker we see, but I think it'd be pretty cool and fun to see that other side of the Undertaker. Yes, many of you say that his WrestleMania gimmick is supposed to be the Dead Man, but with the streak gone from existence, it wouldn't matter either way. This way, it wouldn't seem to be the same Undertaker who lost to Lesnar last year, it would be the badass side that we haven't seen for quite some time. I agree it would be stupid in some ways, but we also have to look at the other possibilities for WM 31. If you want to please the fans one way, then you have to disappoint the other side of the fans.

Either way, it'll without a doubt be a great match. Wyatt is a great performer overall, but I was genuinely surprised that Vince would decide to book him with the Undertaker. Undertaker has had a lot more in the past and going under to someone like Lesnar isn't something to take lightly. Please comment your preference on who you want the winner of this match to be, and which gimmick you'd rather see in the WrestleMania match.
