Negotiations to do Big Show vs. Shaquille O'Neal at Wrestlemania XXVIII are underway as Shaq confirmed in a radio interview this week.

WWE officials wanted a well-known Miami celebrity to appear on the show as they had hoped to secure an appearance by LeBron James if the 2011-2012 NBA season was canceled due to the lockout. Once the NBA lockout ended, WWE went with plan B and began negotiating with Shaq. Shaq was a favorable target because he has a good relationship with WWE, is a huge fan and won an NBA championship with the Miami Heat in 2006.

WWE plans on playing off the encounter that Big Show and Shaq had on the July 28, 2009 edition of Raw where Shaq was the guest host.
