As we covered extensively here on WrestlingNewsWorld.com, Brie Bella changed her position on retirement, claiming she was taking a break. This was a clarification WWE asked her to make because even though she told them she was leery about wrestling again and doesn’t want Daniel Bryan to wrestle again, WWE didn’t want the media picking up on the story of two prominent wrestlers who are married both retiring simultaneously due to concerns about the dangers of wrestling and brain trauma.
It was just a few short weeks ago that New Japan Pro Wrestling thought they had a serious shot at landing Bryan and were confused by Bryan's change of heart. NJPW was not contacting Bryan directly but going through intermediaries, who have now told NJPW they don't think Bryan is going to wrestle again any time soon.
Back to Bella, there has been some jockeying going on between WWE and E! over how to handle the company phasing out the term Divas. E wasn’t a fan of the switch because they’ve invested considerably in the brand and now there is some confusion over whether or not to rename Total Divas. WWE wants a switch but they don’t want to upset anyone at the network with the ratings for the reality series way down.
Just today, we learned E have not only renewed Total Divas for a sixth season but given Brie and Nikki Bella there own Total Bellas spinoff. I'm sure there is more to that and we'll have those details as soon as we get them.
