While most of the WWE got to enjoy a much needed day off yesterday with the exception of the NXT faithful; WWE writers were back to the drawing board in regards to the Superstar Shakeup. Previously called a "draft," Vince put the plan into motion with nothing concrete behind it on Monday afternoon.
Where do we stand as of now?
Well as of now, the superstar shakeup could happen not only on Raw but actually could be a 2 part event and take place on Smackdown, as well. This would help draw a continued audience to Smackdown and spread ratings. At this point, however, it is something they are still going back and forth on.
These are the current planned moves coming out of the meetings mind you this is the type of stuff that can change by the minute.
Moving to Raw: AJ Styles, The Miz, The Usos, Mojo Rawley, Bray Wyatt, Carmella, Alexa Bliss, Dean Ambrose
Moving to Smackdown: Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, Charlotte, Sami Zayn, The New Day, Braun Strowman
Here is where it gets tricky - Vince only wants to send Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods to Smackdown, putting Big E on a singles run on Raw.
It is very possible the bookers can talk Vince into keeping AJ and Braun Strowman on their current shows, which makes the most sense, however again we have to remember this is done for a much bigger picture and to set up the next year of story lines. Frankly, if you ask many officials, moving Owens, Rollins, and Finn to Smackdown and Orton, Miz, Ambrose to Raw from a top stand point makes the most sense long term, however, not something they are looking at doing.
Zack Reacts: I'm trying to put my "long term" goggles on here, so I do like most of the moves. I think Smackdown would be good for KO because he can really show off more there. Even though he was the top guy on Raw for a while, it seemed like he was still on the back burner, so Smackdown could do for him what it did for AJ Styles.
I think it's interesting they continue to keep AJ and The Club away from each other. Could be intentional could be by design, I can't say.
While I think Miz deserves to be a top guy on Raw based on his last year on Smackdown, I'm afraid they'd lose him in the shuffle there and let a top guy become a mid-card guy again. I'd rather see him stay on Smackdown and become World Champion there, rather than win another secondary title on Raw.
Pleeeease put Carmella on Raw and partner her up with Enzo and Cass again, she very badly needs it and Enzo and Cass could use a little freshening up.
I don't know why but I had a feeling Mojo would jump shows, just a random feeling I had Monday.
Rollins on Smackdown has my interest, it'd give him some good new rivalries.
I completely support splitting New Day. It's obvious, even though they could team forever and never get boring, that they've ran their course. Not all teams need to split up with one turning on the others. It'd be priceless to see Xavier's face when he hears that Big E wasn't drafted with them. I really hope they do more with Woods and Kofi than just turn them into a two man tag team. Let them all go their own way now.
He isn't on this list but I'm REAALLY hoping Cesaro goes to the blue brand as well, he has earned a top spot and needs to break free of the Tag Team Division.
