Mark Henry announced last week that he signed a new 3-year contract with WWE while doing an interview with Peter Rosenberg on Hot 97.
Prior to announcing the deal, Henry was reportedly mulling over his options as WWE was hopeful he would re-sign. We're told by sources close to Henry that he saw the WWE deal as a "sure thing," which ultimately made his decision to secure his financial future for the next few years.
The offer that Henry accepted was actually sent to him two weeks before he agreed to it and when he made the announcement last Thursday, he had not put pen to paper and actually signed the deal. That was considered a mere formality and it should be signed, sealed and delivered as of this writing.
There was some internal talk within TNA Wrestling about making a play for Henry should he become available but obviously with a new deal being signed, that is no longer the case.
