WWE was going back and forth on the number of women for the upcoming Women's Royal Rumble and at one point, they even annouced that it would consist of 20 participants. However, the company went back to the orginal plan over the weekend to make the match have the same rules as the men's match, meaning that it will include 30 participants and retain the over-the-top-rope stipulation. This leaves around ten open spots for returns, one-night-only appearances and NXT performers. It will not be hard for them to fill the 30 spots if we are to assume that Lita, the Bella Twins, Ronda Rousey and Beth Phoenix are included in the field. I would not count out Serena or Kelly Kelly as possibilities either.
As far as the time intervals, it will not be 2-minute intervals. It is most likely to be unannounced until the timing of the show is finished.
Vince McMahon would like to lock up Brock Lesnar for another year on the deal that either side has the option to renegotiate the terms. With the Lesnar/Jon Jones UFC superfight not happening anymore, it is becoming less and less likely that Brock will fight for UFC. He still draws very well for WWE and the company is lacking top star power through no one's fault but their own.
War Machine is wrapping up all of their obligations and, in addition to Ricochet, they could appear on WWE TV as early as Royal Rumble weekend.
Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson and Finn Balor were thrilled to finally be teaming together on Raw. This has been talked about for over a year and at one point there was even an idea to have them feud with the Shield back in May. Regarding Balor himself, he is one of three men in the running to possibly win the Rumble match. Under this scenario, he would be the one to challenge AJ Styles for the WWE Title at Wrestlemania. The belief is that the other two frontrunners to win are John Cena and Shinsuke Nakamura.
Vince McMahon (as well as several backstage officials) has been very pleased with the Usos as of late. It is not only for the great matches they have been working but also the hours they have been putting in at the gym, which has been apparent to anyone who's been watching them on recent TV.
