-- While it hasn't been explicitly stated, WWE writers are starting to suspect that The Undertaker is very seriously considering doing another match at WrestleMania. Vince McMahon has ordered that Kane continue to be pushed strong and that ideas be pitched for WrestleMania matches involving Kane and a partner in a tag team match. It obviously doesn't take a genius to figure out that for it to be considered such a priority, the partner would have to be The Undertaker.
In previous discussions between McMahon and The Undertaker over the last few months about Undertaker's level of interest in returning, McMahon has pushed the idea that if The Undertaker wanted to do one more match, it should be a tag team match to take some of the pressure off of him.
A lot of the WrestleMania card is still up in the air because it's almost January and with The Undertaker's status still unknown, let alone whether he'd be in a singles match or a tag team match, a lot of dominoes can't fall into place yet. There's been talk of John Cena winning the Royal Rumble, but if Undertaker does return in a singles match, that is the match Cena wants. The plan at one point was for Jinder Mahal to regain the WWE championship soon from AJ Styles and then drop the title to Cena at WrestleMania, but Cena would much rather face Undertaker than beat Mahal for the championship.
As for The Undertaker's preference, he prefers a singles match and the opponent he's suggested has been Braun Strowman. Undertaker goes back and forth every year on whether he wants to gut through one more match and the company tries to be respectful and not rush his decision. He's been asked to decide by the week before the Royal Rumble, but he's changed his mind several times. It was very important to Vince McMahon last year that Roman Reigns get a win over The Undertaker, but this year there hasn't been the same level of panic over whether The Undertaker will return or not.
