- It was an inside rib with Daniel Bryan ripping the name of the new WWE Universal Championship. The name of the title has received a significant amount of criticism from those within the company and it’s believed the comments Joey Styles made about it in his Facebook Q&A with Cathy Kelley played a part in his release from the company.

- WWE is preparing for John Cena to miss additional time to shoot the second season of American Grit. The project is in no way affiliated with WWE, so they can’t control the filming schedule but are hoping to have Cena for Survivor Series. As we reported Monday here in our Members content, Cena now sees himself as a part-time talent.

- Daniel Bryan’s line about Cesaro being underutilized is all kayfabe and part of his push. Obviously there is a tease in there that Cesaro could be traded to Smackdown, however, nothing has been confirmed.

- Rusev was praised for his work as a heel on Raw. There has been some heat on him and Lana, remember when they went public to TMZ about their engagement when WWE was in the midst of splitting them up? But that’s said to be over and done with and Vince McMahon is on board at this point.

- Vince McMahon questioned Triple H about the ring work of Dana Brooke, wondering why they called her up if she is clearly not ready.

- There’s a lot of talk that Finn Balor is going to The King Demon persona too early and the company should really hold off on it. Finn has worked just a few matches on the main roster and while he’s getting a major push, and is likely to walk away the first WWE Universal Champion, the feeling backstage is they should hold off on the paint. Vince McMahon loves the paint and the entrance and wants to see it happen on the main roster as soon as possible.

- There is some frustration over The Usos being injury prone as Vince McMahon has needed them on Smackdown. Vince has told both Jimmy and Jey to watch the dives and have more control in the past and neither have toned it back.
