Bobby Lashley's not-so-subtle remarks that he was open to returning to WWE are exactly what they insinuated - he wants to return to his former employer.
One source with knowledge of Lashley's mindset tells me WWE has basically "gave him the cold shoulder." I'm told there is still a considerable amount of heat on him based on the way he departed from the company four years ago. The feeling is a lot of resources were poured into making him a top guy, only for him to end up "flaking out."
I can also confirm Lashley has been in contact with TNA Impact Wrestling about a return and he was rumored for their Ra Ka King shoot in India. However, my source tells me things "don't appear to be working out" there either.
While TNA does have some interest in Lashley, the money he's looking for and the money they are willing to offer are so far apart, nothing is expected to get done any time soon. I'm told the mentality as far as spending on talent has drastically changed over the years and TNA isn't open to paying him "top guy" money.
