Bill Goldberg

- Bill Goldberg will appear on ESPN’s “From the Top Rope” WWE segment with Jonathan Coachman on SportsCenter this Wednesday. There was a lot of talk about this last night at Raw and multiple sources believe that Goldberg is going to announce a deal to return to WWE. However, a deal for him to return was not complete at press time. The two parties have been talking, with serious discussions about him working at Wrestlemania 33 next year going as far back as June. Make sure to catch up on our original story from June. Goldberg’s relationship with WWE was mended with his agreement through 2KSports to take part in the WWE 2K17 video game due out later this month.

- While Seth Rollins has not been cleared, his injury turned out not to be as serious as first thought. He is dealing with injuries to his rib and chest.

- WWE officials are very high up on Tony Nese as he’s next in line to challenge WWE Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins.

- We’re able to confirm that WWE is indeed interested in the TNA tape library and a select few contracts of talent that are currently employed there. We’ve remained extremely skeptical over the “interest” that WWE has in purchasing TNA as some believe the interest has been overplayed by other parties — mainly Billy Corgan. It does not appear that WWE has any interest in purchasing TNA to keep it in operation as a standalone promotion.

- The plan for Braun Strowman is to feed him bigger names over the next few weeks and eventually introduce Samoa Joe. This is a new plan from over the weekend and it could change because it makes more since for Joe to be on Smackdown. One plan had Joe being introduced as Shane McMahon’s pick to fight Brock Lesnar, however, that could end up being Goldberg.

- The latest on the main event for WWE Hell in a Cell is to do Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship as a way to “stack the deck” against Rollins, only for it to backfire. Again, the fact Rollins’s injury is less severe than originally thought is a huge plus as all plans involving him were in doubt last week.
