- I’m not sure if there is something more to this but it’s worth noting that we’re told Triple H wants to do Steve Austin vs. Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 32, while Vince McMahon is against it and prefers Brock vs. The Rock. As we first reported, the seeds planted for Austin vs. Lesnar were very intentional, now whether that was Paul Heyman going into business himself, Paul and Austin having some fun or something else is up for debate and it depends on who and what you believe. There have even been rumors Vince was upset with it.
The last we heard, Austin had not been approached by WWE officials about working Wrestlemania 32, however, I’m fascinated by Hunter/Vince dynamic. Nonetheless, pretty much everyone in WWE has major doubts about Austin actually returning to the ring. Here are some other things we’re hearing:
- At one point there was interest in adding an eighth participant to the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. No word how deep this interest is but do not be shocked if there is a surprise on Sunday. Current announced participants are Dolph Ziggler, Neville, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston, Sheamus and Kane.
- Some feel the stuff on Twitter between Bully Ray and Erick Rowan & Luke Harper could have legs as an angle if it isn’t already. WWE hasn’t shown much interest in signing Ray but with Vince McMahon on his tag team kick and Hunter willing to do what’s best for business, who knows. I’m still laughing at the CM Punk/Hulk Hogan tweets.
- Triple H is pushing to bolster the Divas division, with call-ups expected. Both Charlotte and Sasha Banks are ready but who wants them off NXT? Certainly not me.
