Following-up on a story we brought you last week about Spike TVconsidering dipping their toe back in the water in terms of pro wrestling, we’re told they actually had preliminary talks with Ring of Honor for monthly specials. We’re told Spike was concerned about ROH’s production quality as well as their lack of mainstream name talent. Spike would have wanted upgrades on both fronts.

There were some in ROH that were intrigued by the idea, especially with their iPPV business not thriving, but the corporate people at Sinclair do not want to pour anymore money into ROH, not to mention they were not keen on the idea of their exclusive franchise not being exclusive anymore.

With Sinclair tightening up Ring of Honor’s budget, it’s causing problems.

In fact, we’ve heard some of their contracted talent have been getting paid late. Apparently one of the issues relating to finances within the company has to do with them refunding more money than they ever expected with their iPPVs. There are also issues with their relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling in terms of handing the expenses on the next set of planned shows with them.
