Last week we reported here on Wrestling News World Premium that a few workers had vocally expressed their displeasure for how Dean Ambrose was being underutilized. I’m being told among those workers was a top star and a well known producer. A week later and he was added to the WWE Payback main event, something that clearly does not seem coincidental. Just to reiterate, Ambrose never said anything but it was his peers that stressed the company was missing the boat with him.
There was some confusion backstage regarding the injury to Sami Zayn to the point where some questioned whether or not it was a work. With WWE now reporting he’s scheduled for an MRI, we’ll just hold and see what happens. However, I can tell you there was initial skepticism. Zayn has been dealing with lingering shoulder issues.
Chris Jericho will likely return to WWE this summer. While we can’t confirm a deal is in place, we have heard his name come up in creative meetings.
Bad News Barrett was seen nursing his shoulder backstage, which obviously throws up a red flag. We’re assured it’s nothing serious.
Ryback was praised for saving his promo and how he controlled the crowd throughout.
Both Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose received raved reviews for their bout, to the point where people were applauding when they got to the back.
