Backstage news from Monday Night Raw in Knoxville, TN…
- There was a meeting prior to this week's show with Triple H expressing his desire for Raw and Smackdown to have more of a flow from top to bottom. There are concerns within the company that people aren't subscribing to the WWE Network because the product on TV isn't compelling, in large part due to a lack of flow, angles being forgotten or outright aborted. One observer pointed to Hunter and Vince McMahon having "different visions" and the ideas of the two clashing. Going into the summer, Triple H really wants more focus placed on undercard programs to help build the mid card.
- WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan will follow-up with Dr. Joseph Maroon this week and should get a true timeline for his return. As noted, the word is that he's not going to be cleared for Payback or Money in the Bank. The company could still use one of the Money in the Bank ladder matches to crown an interim champion but a lot of stalling has been done until a firmer timeline for Bryan's return is established.
- Drew McIntyre appeared to have suffered a leg injury after a blown spot during in his match. Apparently it was nothing serious but he appeared to be in pain backstage.
- Vince McMahon is said to be "fully on board" with the push of Rusev.
