John Cena and Roman Reigns

- We’re hearing conflicting opinions of the renewed push of Roman Reigns. One source feels he’s still not over and the company is going to continue to have their work cut out for them as the top babyface, while another indicates it’s going to hold this time. I looked at the situation in a detailed piece on Tuesday that you can read at this link and will add that WWE desperately needs it to work. Triple H feels good about it, so we’ll see.

- There continues to be discussions about a potential Triple H vs. Seth Rollins program on down the line. The details are still being discussed with Roman Reigns entering the title conversation and WWE also wanting to involve Dean Ambrose. We’re told WWE doesn’t want Ambrose taking away from Reign’s reactions and they need more babyfaces. In other words, it’s a complicated mix but those discussions are happening.

- Vince McMahon yanked the rug out from underneath The Dudley Boyz winning the WWE Tag Team Championship and made the final decision for The New Day to retain. Things can always change but we’re under the assumption they are officially moving on. The New Day have done everything asked of them and gotten over even when it didn’t look promising. There was talk of programming Enzo Ambrose and Big Cass with them but Cass is currently injured.

- One source told us Vince McMahon was pleased with Cesaro’s work against Kevin Owens on Raw on Monday. However, I’ll add the in-ring of Cesaro has never been a question, it’s the other things Vince has been reluctant on that has had him stuck for years.

- There isn’t much of an update on Randy Orton as he continues to seek medical advice on his ailing shoulder.

- Alberto Del Rio got a big deal to return to WWE as the company hopes to push him as a top Latin star. A lot of people felt like WWE overpaid for him but let’s remember, TNA Wrestling was willing to “break the bank” to sign him, even in the midst of mass cuts. Del Rio was in an outstanding position and he got paid.
