We have an update on Ryback following his 2-4 record in televised/pay-per-view singles matches for the month of November. We reported a couple weeks ago here on WrestlingNewsWorld.com Premium that Vince McMahon was indeed entertaining the thought of doing Ryback vs. Bill Goldberg at Wrestlemania XXX next year. The only hangup seemed to be Goldberg's reluctance to return as a heel.

In speaking with sources, I'm told the word is Ryback wants the match "really bad." He knows that it would be a big match and figures he would be going over. My source says he's been doing all he could for months to subtly stir up interest, in addition to lobbying for it behind-the-scenes.

There's a story making rounds that he has heat in WWE for imitating Goldberg's move set without permission. At this point, a deal isn't done with Goldberg and WWE is going back and forth on whether they want to do the match or not. The office really felt like Ryback was going into business for himself by trying to build interest in a match that may not happen. Furthermore, the feeling is that Ryback knows it's a match he'd be booked to win and wouldn't be so eager to see the match happen if he was the one who would be getting pinned.

So the reason he's been "pinned to death" in recent weeks is a humbling of sorts as Wrestlemania XXX plans hang in the balance.
