WWE officials had big plans for Solomon Crowe (a/k/a Sami Callihan) in NXT for next year as he was one of a few guys they weren’t doing much with now that they knew would help give them credibility on the road once NXT was touring full time. Crowe had been told as much, the problem is he realized even if he was being pushed in NXT next year and given a decent spot on the tours, he'd make more money by leaving the company. We’re told he just felt like he was never going to get a shot on the main roster, which would be the only way to make more money than what he could make by leaving.
That’s going to be the one hiccup with NXT’s plans. As they get bigger and bigger, if they aren’t playing talent well, the guys will essentially be helping WWE kill off Ring of Honor, while making less than they’d make in ROH and other places.
Not only that, if they leave, there really wouldn’t be anywhere to go. It’s a weird situation because guys that never make it to the main roster, they’re actually helping WWE kill their future job prospects because as NXT continues to grow, "alternative" wrestling brands are really going to struggle more and more.
