Three Names TNA Wants to Sign For Live Premiere On Pop
On Monday, we briefly touched on TNA Wrestling wanting to make a big signing for their live premiere on Pop next month. Adding to that report, there has been some internal chatter about reaching out to MVP to see if he’d be interested. Remember he was released over the Hernandez/Lucha Underground fiasco last summer. While he had a lot of heat, they really want a name fans aren’t expected and know their roster is super thin.
They have also made contact with AJ Styles. Dixie Carter still has a soft spot for him and they’d love to have him back, but they wouldn’t want him still working for New Japan Pro Wrestling and that is likely a deal-breaker.
Karl Anderson is another name garnering interest from TNA but he doesn’t want to leave New Japan either. So far though, he’s been more receptive to the idea than AJ but would prefer to come in as a tag team with Doc Gallows. TNA wants him for singles competition.
Anderson took the tag bookings w/Doc in Ring of Honor to try to show they're a package deal. Their ROH dates are in March, but TNA is still trying to get Karl for January in a deal that would allow him to honor existing bookings, but he wouldn't be able to keep working for New Japan and Ring of Honor after March.
