TNA Wrestling has been focused on trying to close a deal with WGN America. We're told they're not happy with the money on the table but it's the highest offer they have, so there's not much leverage there.
Global Force Wrestling is watching TNA's TV negotiations very carefully and had tried to get on WGN America earlier this year, however, were unable to secure a deal. GFW has turned their attention to Velocity HD but if WGN America and TNA don't make a deal, TNA could end up on Velocity. So GFW is hoping TNA ends up on WGN America, so they can work out their own TV agreement.
If GFW lands a domestic TV deal, they're targeting AJ Styles as their franchise player. We're told they are willing to offer a deal that would allow him to remain a regular with New Japan Pro Wrestling, while also working as the face of their TV show.
Another guy that GFW wants is Samoa Joe. Joe's deal with TNA is coming up at the end of the month so Bound for Glory could end up being his last match with the company. We're told TNA has not even offered Joe an extension because they don't want to sign anybody to anything until they've got their TV situation figured out. Things are really coming down to the wire.
Obviously a lot of workers under TNA contracts are upset there will be no shows for so long. It's gotten to the point where workers such as The Wolves have been trying to get out of their TNA contracts, while Gail Kim has contemplated retirement.
