WWE has been very impressed lately by the in ring improvement of former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey. Rousey, who continues to train with Brian Kendrick, is penciled in as a prominent part of the WrestleMania plans for next year, but her exact role won't be determined for several months once WWE has a better idea of what she'll be capable of in the ring.
While there have been rumors of another UFC fighter, Conor McGregor, participating in WrestleMania next year, WWE has tried to shoot those rumors down.
Where the rumors stem from is the UFC reaching out to WWE to gauge their interest in McGregor, in the hope that something could be worked out that would allow Brock Lesnar to have another fight for the UFC while still under contract to WWE. However, in addition to Vince McMahon believing that McGregor's price tag is ridiculous, McMahon is also dead set against allowing Lesnar to fight in UFC again while under WWE contract and McMahon regrets allowing it previously.
WWE planted a story in the New York Post denying there were any talks on going with McGregor, which is technically true as the talks ceased the second WWE heard UFC's asking price. There are no talks on going, but there was a brief dialog initiated by UFC about a hypothetical talent swap involving McGregor and Lesnar.
