Backstage Undertaker Update

Brock Lesnar walked a severely concussed Undertaker through their match at Wrestlemania XXX, calling many of the spots himself. The injury was believed to occur early on, as we noted on Monday, on a single leg takedown.

Once Undertaker got to the back, he was evaluated by WWE physicians and it was determined he needed immediate medical attention at a hospital. He was rushed to Ochsner Medical Center via ambulance with Vince McMahon being concerned enough to leave his duties at the gorilla position and accompany Undertaker and his wife Michelle McCool.

Undertaker was put through a battery of tests, including a CT scan. After the tests were concluded, he was diagnosed with a severe concussion and admitted so he could be observed overnight. He was discharged early Monday afternoon and returned to his hotel with his wife.

While no one knows Undertaker's future, his match against Lesnar was believed to be his last. Also, Brock Lesnar is guy Undertaker was believed to have picked to end the streak nearly 4 years ago. This was before Lesnar was back with WWE and actually went public when Undertaker had a staredown with him at UFC 121 in October 2010.

Undertaker stated publicly before his match at Wrestlemania 29 against CM Punk that he was coming back for "one more" against Brock Lesnar. Obviously it was unknown at the time that "one more" was literally one more that would put the streak to bed.

RVD's WWE Return

Rob Van Dam was scheduled to return at this week's episode of Monday Night Raw for the past two months. There was talk of inserting him in the 30-man Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, as he was even backstage, but Vince McMahon decided to hold him off until Raw. This was because Vince was concerned about Raw the night after Wrestlemania 30 being a let down and he wanted to save the pop.

The last I heard, WWE and RVD were still working on the length of his contract and WWE was hopeful he would be there through SummerSlam in August.
