While there had been a lot of tension between WWE and Bray Wyatt since WrestleMania weekend when Bray missed promotional events after finding out he was losing, things have finally been smoothed over. Wyatt was originally promised to win the title back from Randy Orton before the last-minute decision was made to send Wyatt to Raw instead of AJ Styles. As a result, the non-title win at Payback was a peace offering and Wyatt has been a lot happier on Raw than he was on SmackDown.
In the past, Wyatt always had a reputation for being very agreeable and easy to work with, which often can result in a talent being taken for granted. While Wyatt risked being buried due to the WrestleMania weekend temper tantrum, with the split rosters being so thin right now, it ended up paying off and Vince McMahon has made it known that Wyatt needs to be better protected going forward.
This would easily explain Wyatt's recent wins over Orton at Payback and Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose on Raw.
