WWE Championship Match
- CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho

The entrances:

Back in the arena, the lights go out for Chris Jericho’s entrance. Jericho comes out with a brand new light up jacket on. He makes his way to the ring quickly.

We get a quick recap of some of the comments Jericho has made over the past few weeks about CM Punk’s family.

CM Punk is out next, and forget about pyro, because the champ has straight up fireworks on his way out to the ring.

The start:

The bell rings, and Punk grins at Jericho. Jericho backs Punk into the ropes, and the two fight for position around the ring. They trade positioning a couple of times before Punk takes Jericho down to the mat. Jericho attempts to fight up, but Punk hits him with a couple of clubbing blows to the face. Punk hits Jericho with a big chop and a knee to the gut, flipping him over. Punk hits Jericho with a big elbow to the side of the head, then a couple of boots. Jericho rears back and slaps Punk across the face.

Mid-match notes:

Punk stomps away at Jericho in the corner, having to be counted away by the ref. Jericho comes up with another slap to the face. Punk hits him with a dropkick and another series of rights, having to be pulled away by the ref. Jericho yells at Punk, asking how his father is.

Punk hits him with a running knee to the face, then holds his arms and administers elbows to the side of Jericho’s face. Punk slams Jericho to the mat, then heads up to the top turnbuckle.

Jericho rolls out of the ring, so Punk dives to the floor with a clothesline to take out Jericho. Jericho asks how Punk’s sister is. Punk grabs a chair and Jericho rolls into the ring. Punk wont hit Jericho, but Jericho is screaming insults at Punk’s family. Punk drops the chair and hits Jericho with a kick to the gut. Jericho responds with a dropkick out of the corner from the bottom rope. Jericho hits Punk with a series of rights to the back of the head.

Jericho hits Punk with a big elbow, and the two men fight out to the apron. Punk tries for the G2S on the apron, but Jericho fights out, and hits him with a clothesline that sends him back into the ring. Jericho suplexes Punk from inside of the ring to the floor on the outside.

Jericho hits Punk with a nasty kick before sending him back into the ring. Jericho goes for the cover, but Punk kicks out. Jericho butterflies the arms and hits a nice back breaker before going straight into a rear chin lock. Jericho rears back, putting all the pressure on Punk’s neck and back.

Punk is able to fight to his feet, slapping Jericho, but he runs right into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for another near fall. Jericho lays in with a nasty kick to the spine before planting himself on Punk and getting another near fall. Jericho mounts Punk and hits him with a series of rights before he’s called off by the ref. Jericho catches Punk with a stomp and a kick to the back. Punk fights back with strikes and a big boot, but when he goes up in the corner, Jericho pulls him off the top rope hard. Jericho goes for the pin, but he’s only able to get two. Jericho pulls back on Punk’s arms, but Punk fights out of the submission. Punk rises to his feet, but runs right into a big boot. Punk avoids a bulldog, and Jericho crashes into the corner.

Punk begins to fight back with more strikes, a big knee, a clothesline and a neckbreaker for his own near fall. Punk picks Jericho up and slams him back down to the mat. Punk heads up to the top, stopping for a moment to soak everything in. Punk goes for the elbow drop, but Jericho gets his knees up. Jericho hits the code breaker, but Punk rolls to the outside.

Jericho heads out after Punk and struggles to get him back in the ring, finally managing it. Jericho is shouldered by Punk and Punk hits the G2S!

Punk crawls over into the cover, but Jericho is able to get his leg on the bottom rope. Punk hits Jericho with repeated kicks, then a nice quick scoop slam. Punk gets another two count, and looks to be getting frustrated. Punk goes for a suplex but Jericho counters. Both men try to gain the advantage, and Jericho does so by suplexing Punk into the top rope. Jericho hits the lionsault and goes for the pin, but Punk is able to kick out. Punk sits Jericho on the top rope and hits him with a couple of strikes, and a nasty head butt. Punk follows up after Jericho and tries for a hurricanrana, but Jericho stops him, drops down to the mat, walks Punk out to the middle of the ring, and locks in the walls of Jericho!

Punk makes it to the ropes to force a break. Jericho argues with the ref for a bit, then turns around into a back drop over the top rope from Punk. Punk follows to the outside by diving through the ropes to take out Jericho against the barricade. Punk sends Jericho into the ring post hard.

Back in the ring, Punk goes to the top and leaps off, right into a code breaker from Jericho. Jericho goes for the pin, but Punk wont stay down for a three count. Punk pulls Jericho off the top on his shoulders. Punk tries for the G2S, but Jericho catches his leg and goes right into the Walls of Jericho. Jericho pulls back, putting all his weight on Punk’s back. Punk is in the middle of the ring. He slowly makes his way to the ropes. Jericho pulls him back into the middle of the ring. Punk is able to fight out of the hold and he rolls Jericho up. Both men trade small packages. Punk comes up with the anaconda vice. Jericho tries a roll up. Punk kicks out and holds on to the submission.

Jericho fights out of the hold and tries for the Walls again. Punk wont let him get it locked in. Punk kicks his way out of the hold and works his way back into the anaconda vice. Punk rips at Jericho’s arm and Jericho is forced to tap out.

Winner & STILL WWE Champion, CM Punk

The referee hands the title to Punk, who rips it out of his hands. Punk holds the belt up and celebrates while Jericho looks on sadly.

It’s not really in the ring, but it’s not backstage. But anyway, Brodus Clay makes his way out with backup dancers, and he asks everyone to get out their phones to call their mothers. A fan is shown on screen calling his mother. Brodus calls his own mother, letting her know he’s at WrestleMania. Brodus’ mama is apparently in attendance. Clay introduces his mama, Mama Clay.

A woman with some pretty ridiculous costume enhancements makes her way out to dance with Clay. A whole group of similarly dressed women makes their way out to all dance in sync. I just don’t know what else to say about this.

WWE Championship Match
- John Cena vs. The Rock

The entrances:

We get a video package, one that we've all seen many times (I've seen it at least six times tonight, alone) to set up the once-in-a-lifetime meeting between icons.

Shawn “Diddy” Combs, of all people is introduced. He asks the people of WrestleMania and Orlando if they're ready. Combs introduces MGK who's here to perform "Invincible" to bring John Cena out to the ring.

In the middle of the song, Kelly says the tonight, millions of people are here to see one of the biggest egos beaten by one of the biggest underdog. He defines underdog, and says he and John Cena are underdogs, and they rise above hate. Kelly and his backers make their way to the back as Cena's regualy music hits, and he comes out to the ring sporting a new green color combo.

Flo Rida is out next to do the other song that we've heard ad naseum in the buildup to WrestleMania. I can't complain too much though, simply because both performances were pretty good, and better than other past musical guests like Kid Rock.

Flo Rida heads to the back as The Rock’s music hits, and the man himself makes his in-ring return to the biggest stage in professional wrestling. Rock gets a great reception from the crowd, definitely much more positive than Cena’s.

We get formal ring introductions for both men. Cena's reaction is overwhelmingly negative, while Rock's is completely positive.

Both men soak it all in, in the middle of the ring. The bell rings and the crowd goes nuts. We get a lock up and neither man wants to give an inch. Cena shoves Rock away.

The start:

Another lock up and this time Rock shoves Cena away. These two men have the crowd completely eating out of their hand. Rock locks in a side headlock. Rock turns it into a hammerlock, but Cena reverses. Rock is able to take Cena over with a pair of armdrags, then he rolls up Cena with a la magistral. Cena kicks out, but he looks shocked.

Another lock up, and another headlock from the Rock. Cena pushes Rock off and eats a shoulderblock. Cena hits a big hip toss, then takes Rock over and down to the mat with a headlock. Rock is able to fight up to his feet and out of the hold.

Mid-match notes:

Rock takes Cena off of his feet, and Cena rolls to the outside. Cena heads back into the ring, but he's caught with a kick to the chest from Rock. Cena backs Rock up into the corner, then buries his shoulder in Rock's gut. Cena backs across the ring and charges in again with another shoulder to the midsection. Cena nearly takes Rock's head off with a giant clothesline.

Rock kicks out of a near fall attempt, but Cena goes right to locking in a bear hug down on the mat. Rock is able to fight up to his feet and blast Cena with a couple of rights to the side of the head. Rock charges Cena, but Cena low-bridges the Rock and Rocky ends up crashing to the outside.

Cena heads out after Rock and plants him ribs first on the barricade. Cena follows Rock around the ringside area and slams him down on the announce table. Cena rolls back into the ring before heading right back toward the Rock and laying in with a big kick to the ribs. Cena rolls Rock into the ring and goes for a pin, but he’s only able to get a two count.

Cena stomps away at Rock, continuing the assault. Cena hits Rock with a belly to belly suplex that's good enough to put him down for another two count. Cena goes for a right, but Rock blocks it and hits a couple rights of his own. Cena stops Rock's momentum with a big bear hug in the middle of the ring. Cena hoists Rock up off his feet to add even more pressure to Rocky's back.

Rock is able to fight his way out of the hold and puts Cena down for a near fall, but he can't keep Cena down. Rock picks Cena up, and Cena begins to hit Rock with a series of punches. Rock comes back with a series of punches of his own before hitting a big flying clothesline, and a spinebuster. Rock teases the People's elbow, but Cena counters into the STF. Rock fights out, but Cena hits a couple of shoulder blocks, and puts Rock down with a belly to back suplex. Cena says Rock can't see him, and hits the five knuckle shuffle.

Cena shoulders Rock, but Rock fights out. Both men connects with clotheslines, and both go down.

Both men get to their feet and trade rights in the middle of the ring. Cena is able to shoulder Rock, and he scores with the AA. Cena goes for the pin, but Rock is able to kick out at two.

Cena picks Rock up, and eats a quick Rock bottom. Rocky goes for the pin, but Cena wont stay down for three. Rock charges Cena in the corner, laying in with right hands and elbows. Cena fights back with a side slam for another near fall.

Cena heads up to the top rope and leaps off with a giant leg drop to the back of the neck. Cena pins Rock, but this one still isn't over. Cena waits for Rock to stand and tries for the AA again, but Rock fights it off and takes Cena down to the mat. Rock locks in the sharpshooter, and turns it over. Cena's screaming, but he's able to make it to the ropes to force a break. Rock mounts Cena and hits him with a barrage of rights before dragging him back toward the middle of the ring and locking the sharpshooter back on.

Cena breaks the hold again by getting to the ropes. Rock bails to the outside and hits Cena with a couple of shots. Rock hits Cena with an elbow to the back of the neck and Cena falls from the ring. Rock picks Cena up and launches him into the ring steps.

Rock sends Cena into the steps again and Cena tries to head into the ring. Rock heads into the ring, and Cena recovers and is able to surprise Rock in the ring, locking in the STF. Cena pulls back, but Rock wont quit. Cena pulls Rock toward the center of the ring and locks on the hold again, pulling back with all his might.

Rock fades, going limp. The ref lifts up Rock's arm for one. Two. But Rock wont stay down for three. Rock inches over into the ropes, forcing Cena to break the hold.

Rock is able to connect with a Samoan drop out of nowhere, and both men are down. Both get back to their feet, where they trade rights again. Rock tries for the Rock bottom but Cena blocks. Cena tries for the AA but Rock fights it off. Rock hits a spinebuster and plants Cena in the middle of the ring. Rock takes his elbow pad off and tosses it to the crowd before hitting the People's elbow. Cena refuses to stay down though, and he kicks out at two.

Cena catches Rock with a small package for two. Cena takes Rock off of his feet and slingshots him into the corner. Cena rolls Rock up for another two count.

The finish:

Cena pulls Rock to his feet, powering him into the corner. Cena seats Rock on the top turnbuckle. Cena heads up after Rock, but Rock fights him off. Rock shoves Cena to the mat. Rock stands on the top and hits a cross body, but Cena rolls through and powers the Rock up. Cena stands, shoulders the Rock, and hits the AA, but it's still not enough for a three count!

Cena kicks Rocks arms in, and he teases the People’s elbow, but Rock hops up and delivers the Rock bottom for a three count.

Winner: The Rock

His Wrestlemania moment at the hands of someone who needs a Mania moment more than Show does. Great booking, so far, they're crapping on everything.

    • Jason

      Here is the recap:

Sheamus and Daniel just made the oldest title in wwe a joke.

Undertaker and hhh was great in that we all expected triple h to be strong, and they spun it as the undertaker had a year to build up anger and kicked triple h around for the most part. However, both guys looked old and mere shells of who they used to be. The group hug at the end was lame.

Cm punk and Jericho was amazing.

For the divas, no one watches “extra” enough for some unknown c list celebrity to beat a professional wrestler.

And finally, I can’t believe they made cena lose clean!!!

At least pull a stone cold and have cena flip out and resort to cheating to overcome the rock. Now what?

  • Anon

pretty pointless first hour with a horrible start. let's hope things get better although i don't understand why taker – hhh is on already…

The WHC Match Was Total B.S.,The Match Was Like 5 Seconds…..It Made Daniel Bryan Look Like Nothing 🙁

    • ryder

totally agree Daniel Bryan needed a clean win to get him over as a top heel on smackdown but instead he gets squashed in 18 seconds. Now I'm just wondering where does Daniel Bryan go after this I have a feeling he will find his way back into the mid card again

    • HHHRedmonster

No, it made Sheamus look like nothing. Bryan can say he got distracted by AJ.

      • XKonn247

So it made the man who knocked the world champion out in one move look like nothing? Thats an incredibly rediculous thing to say. Don’t disagree with someone when you’re wrong.

        • HHHRedmonster

The brogue kick is his finisher, it's supposed to knock anyone out. Bryan didn't have a chance to defend himself, thus meaning it was a "dirty" victory. Don't start arguments with someone's who's simply looking at it in a different perspective.

  • eddie27

    Taker got fat

  • Bruce

Wonder what A J thinks of her man now?? wonder if they'll be spooning tonight-or will Danny boy be sleeping on the couch?

  • sean

does anyone have a way to stream it ??

    • XKonn247

Yea. Order it and pay it like a fan should.

  • Brandon

Sheamus – D-Bry in 17 Seconds? Show over Cody? Celebrity over Women's Champion?

    – All of them at The Grandest Stage of Them All?

    F*ck this company!

    • Chris

Things and people that got more time on the show than Sheamus and D-Bry World Title Match:

Brodus Clay, Undertakers Entrance, Machine Gun Kelly, Flo-Rida, Rock's entrance, Cena's entrance, The Great Khali, Hornswaggle, Rock-Cena staredown to start their match, the women's tag match, Jack Swagger, Drew McIntyre, Heath Slater, Mama Clay…

      need I go on?

  • chorus12

“Taker uses the edge of the chair to drive into Taker’s spine.” what is happening there jajajajajaja

  • Anon

"grouphug" already trending on twitter? sry, but didn't enjoy this match as much as hbk-taker and hhh-taker last year…

  • Bruce

A J is going to make Danny boy sleep on the couch tonight- No spooning tonight!!

    • jdl

I have a feeling you don't know what spooning is.

    • XKonn247

I’ve now seen you post that joke THREE times and not once has it been funny

  • Anon

two matches left and so far it has been an underwhelming WM…let's hope those two steal the show, punk-jericho wrestling-wise and rock-cena giving the fans what they want – and that's not a cena win!

  • Alex

Why was Zack even in this match? He's just a bubbling buffoon. Maybe him and AJ should get to together. lol

    • havoc525

      Bumbling, you buffoon.

    • ryder

why? because he's over with the crowd

Doesn’t quite work of you can’t get it right.

  • Jay

Santino and Ryder got more screen time and more of a successful night overall than Daniel Bryan. What a fucking joke, and what a way to make some fans hate Super Sheamus.

    • Jay

Not to mention even Khali had a better night, I really want to know wth was up with the opening match, I'm incredibly upset

  • Anon

  • G Ilyas

Never lose myself but I'm gonna go ahead for once here: Rock won, YES YES YES YES!!!!

    • Rob

Honestly… What a poor wrestlemaina. It couldn’t even be saved by jerico and punk. The booking all night long was horrendous. Kane over orton, show over Rhodes, celeb over Phoenix, punk over jerico.. What a waste of time his return has been.. All the hype and he doesn’t win the rumble, knocked out at the chamber and loses at maina.. Really what was the point..? Could have had punk feud with one of the up and comers than rather waste jerico. And finally.. Rock over cena.. Now before you all go crazy I’ll state I’m a bigger rock fan than cena, but for the life of me I couldn’t see how wwe could put him over cena unless he’s coming back full time. They just made there number 1 guy look an ass.. And again unless cena turns heel..? What’s the point..? Other than making the almighty dolled of us sucker fans…

      • H.M.

What? What exactly was wrong with Punk over Jericho? Lengthy title reigns ftw thank you. And the match itself was excellent. As for Kane going over Orton, I think the entire IWC wanted that. I marked out for the top rope Chokeslam. I think WWE will be going somewhere with Cena and Jericho. I'm pretty sure Punk/Jericho is not even close to done.

        • John Turnbull

IMO "Best In The World" proclaims between those two only works at WrestleMania. Yes, lengthy title reigns is good for the champion but does that make Jericho weak and clueless by now? Believe me, I'm a Punk biggest fan. But I would like to see Jericho won the title last night because that makes much more sense in further storyline.

          • j8duong

its not like jericho has anything left to gain from this anyways…people wanted to see a "passing of the torch"…we kinda got one here don't we?

        • Rob

I agree there match was excellent and that lengthy titke rains are needed. I just think jericho has been booked terribly since his return. I think a dirty win for Jericho last night would have allowed more room for the story line to progress over the next ppv’s. As for Kane over Orton, Thrown together with little to no storyline I dont suppose the outcome really matters.
I did forget the mention Daniel Bryan though – I honestly can’t even comment on This it was just plain awful. What a great match they could have had. And again I ask the question… Why..? What did we gain from that…?

      • XKonn247

STOP CRYING THAT CENA IS FACE! Jesus just get over it!! People have been saying it for years and it’s just getting embarrassing!

  • Kleck

    Mock the rock, Hell no!!

  • ryder

Match of the night has to go to HHH/Taker the match I was marking out for great match I think the two things I hated about this ppv was the fact that Sheamus/Daniel Bryan didnt even have a match and Punk/Jericho could have been a lot better than it was it had a lot of nice counters but the match didnt live up to the hype in my opinion

  • Jack

Cena was made out of The Rock’ s character, and both were evolved out of Hulk Hogans shadow. Big strong guys, getting whooped, then exciting adrenaline rush for the win. No real value to the never changing boring weak finishing moves!

  • Joey

Punk and Jericho best match of the night everything else sucked…I couldn't believe how boring the Rock and Cena match the best part of that was when they came out!

  • H.M.

I give the show a 7.5/10. Punk/Y2J was excellent, Kane/Orton was solid and I was pleased with the outcome(preferred a tombstone finish), Rhodes/Show was short but alright, HHH/Taker was great from an emotional perspective, and the 12 man tag match should have been elimination IMO.

The opening match left what remains to be a big sour taste in my mouth. Still fuming about that. Show would be a 9/10 if not for that debacle. Who did Bryan piss of backstage? And can you say Super Sheamus?

  • Funny, a year ago I wanted Cena to get whipped by the Rock, and then the last few months I wanted Cena to win. Cena didn't win (after the only match on the paid PPV that I straight out enjoyed more or less) and I'm kinda upset. There was no reason for the Rock to win, cause at the end of the day, he's back doing movies and gone for another year plus while Cena (like or hate) is still there.

I didn't like this PPV whatsoever (apparently so many people have opposing views) and enjoyed the dark match more than the Cena/Rock match, which was the only match on the PPV card I liked more than loathed. This is coming from someone that legitimately enjoyed last years WM, which many did not.

    • Brandon

For the sake of entertainment it doesn't matter if Rock or Cena won. Both of them got nothing to gain from the win and nothing to lose either.

      • EricDraven86

From a business stand point, there is little logic in Rock going over Cena. While it would not hurt the Rock to lose, Cena losing is not smart for the long term business. I'm gonna save my full judgement of the situation until we see whether there will be a "return job" from Rock to Cena.

    • SimUmp

You enjoyed the dark match better than Cena vs Rock? Something is wrong with you…

  • dadeus

Johnny is now gonna be on both shows..the rock beats cena…sheamus wins in 18 seconds…dang whose making these decisions……worst wrestlemania ever…whoever may be reading this know that johnny is the reason i stopped watching raw and now i think ima gonna give up on wwe altogether..been a fan for 25 years but enoughs enoughs

    • WWEsRuiningWrestling

Couldn't agree more! I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm done watching the WWE!

      • XKonn247

Could ya stop embarassing Beth by making her get pinned by a GIRL WHO WEIGHS LESS THAN 100 LBS? AND CANT EVEN SPELL WRESTLING? Jeez Louise. Got Eve so mad she went to mess up the Long/Johnny match for the Raw/Smackdown takeover. Thanx, Hoeski….

  • Anand

This was real poor booking. The man who has been the face of the company for nearly a decade lost a match to someone who hasnt been here for all that time? I feel bad for Cena. Rocky must have lost the match to show some respect to all the years of hard work put out by Cena

    • Brandon

No. Cena must show respect to Rock who paved way for him to success instead of saying bad things while he's been away to pursue other interest.

      • Rob

So why didn’t Rock lose to Hogan 10 years ago….? As Hogan paved the way for him. I don’t agree with everything Cena has been saying, but I still don’t think he should have lost.

  • MonstaHeel 450

Taker did look like Shredder didnt he? And does Brother Love know that John Laurenitis raided his closet? Nice suit, jacka–!

  • Kleck

    Don’t mock The Rock!!!

  • leslie

rock beat team fruity pebbles yeah cena you are a yaba daba bitch

    • Cena Sucks

Cena looked out of his depth with The Rock.

Haven’t marked that hard since Rock beat Austin in 2003. Yay!!

  • Wes

Thought overall it was ok,I think Kane/Ortons match at extreme rules will be better, the divas match omg, after that why does wwe still keep them around, terriable match a complete freakin joke made me sick the gave that much time to that garbage, hopefully know Rhodes can start a whc push and maybe big show brings ic title back to respectability, I thought punk/Jericho was solid could of been better was really hoping Jericho would win, he’s really done nothing since his time back and winning tonite could of set up a great match at extreme rules, thought team teddy should of won and maybe after tonit well see Ryder’s character evolve, but no way should he of took the job for team teddy, and lastly I think cena should of won to me wwe gives off impression no worker is as good as the Rock or former talent they brought in, rock should of passed torch, the way hogan passed it to him

    • Jonny boy

Cena dosen't need the torch to be passed to him he's already the biggest guy in the company as was Rock a huge star when he faced Hogan matches like those aren't about passing the torch there about giving the fans something they want to see. Passing the torch would be something like in 5yrs time cenas about to retire and loses the WWE title to someone like Ziggler or Barrett to signify someone is the top guy now whereas Rock was already huge when he faced Hogan and Cenas been top guy for 6-7 years now

  • Bryan

For everyone who is complaining, let the stories play out! Geez. RAW is tomorrow night…watch it.

    • XKonn247

I remember a time when WrestleMania was used to end angles and start new ones and wasn’t simply fit storyline progression.

  • Tyler Bowles

I hate how Cena did not win. He should’ve won and unlike Rocky, Cena will be here for day in and day out. Horrible booking for this match.

  • jeb

Why is every comment being thumbed down!!!
I'll be honest, I was going for the Rock, didnt actually expect him to win clean, amazing!
And 'Taker, HHH, Hbk walking out together was truly a special moment.
Punk-Jericho was good, but what killed it was the crowd, they were kinda dead bc they were waiting for rock-cena.
Sheamus-db caught me by surprise but I got pissed when I thought about it later.
Rest of card was good, each match bought a unique thing to the event.

  • I agree with the majority here, John L. Has is so I barely watch RAW anymore. Now I may have to re-evaluate my watching at all. Get it together WWE, the People are talking, I hope you are listening!!!

  • trevor

Maybe the reason diddy came out because he kind of got mgk under contract

    • Bryan

If you listened to anything he said, thats exactly why he came out.

    • XKonn247

You think? Glad you cleared that up. I was confused to be honest. SMH

  • Aldin94

This mania was a BIG let down…Taker vs hhh was the only awesome match. Punk vs y2j was pretty good and cena vs rock was disapointing.

  • Evil Kevyn

Man that was a dull Wrestlemania. The only outcome I cared about was HHH and Taker. At least Laryngitis is in charge and that nerd Bryan isn't champ anymore. No more buying ppv's. I'll just watch the results on YouTube or something.

  • Herman Tank

Punk and Jericho was sooo boring… The best match was Bryan and Sheamus. So shaddup!!!

  • Dig Baddy

Couple of observations…Taker looks skinny with a gut. I hate when my fav wrestlers get old. And I'm shocked that u can do 75% of the stuff u did last year and it still be a great match. RockCena was good but their wrestling styles don't mesh well in the ring. Their just to big and burly to mesh. Overall it was a good Mania but def didn't live up the hype. P.S. what happened to Brick appearing?

  • kim

wwe only let Rocky win because it would please the majority of the crowd. They wanted it to end on a high note, even if it destroyed the moral basis they had.

  • kim

By the way, you can thumbs down my comment all you want, but that still doesn’t change the fact that I’m right about this.

  • Ross

Punk won because Jericho tours with fozzy end of the month.

  • The only reason Rock won is cuz Miami would riot if Cena won…..Rock looked really sloppy and could only punch and hit his signatures. Cena clearly out wrestled the Rock and you could see the frustration on his face waiting for Dwane to kick it in gear. Overall Best WM ever! I dont think anything will Top the Taker match!

    • Travis

You must not have watched the same match I did, I saw Rock out do john Cena in every way. How do you mess up selling a Rock bottom twice? I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome but John Cena has not and never will out" Wrestle" anyone.

      • Autista

        I second Travis!
Rock owned every aspect if the match! From selling to dominating, he had Cenas number all along!

  • Autista

Anyone but me notice how much better the Rock performs? He owned that match from both ends! Glad he won, and hope that Cena has nothing left means – “heel Cena”!

  • Paul

I’ll give wrestlemania 8 out of 10 the whc match was a disgrace, I was looking forward to a decent match and i knew it would be on first, I wrote it somewhere on this page and I said to everyone as Garcia was singing, it makes the whc look like nothing when you see matches like that.
I was glad to see Kane beat orton, I feel like Kane was pushed aside for so many years and after his whc reign on 2010 and a decent wrestlemania win he is getting some recognition later in his career.
And same for big show with his win over Cody, it won’t hurt Cody too much as I feel he be whc this year, very average match.
Went for a cigarette when the divas came on, from what I’ve heard I missed nothing.
Couldn’t believe it when taker/hhh was on next, this natch to me could not have been done better, it was dramatic, brutal (with some accidental blood) and kept me on the edge of my seat. Was very happy to see JR come out for this one too, match of the night 9/10, and so happy it’s 20-0
The big tag match was ok….. Enough said really.
Punk/y2j was a fairly decent match, really didn’t expect cm punk to win, but he is a good champion.
The rock and cena was by no means the best match I’ve ever seen but it was set up as something epic, I can’t believe rocky when over clean but can’t say I didn’t want him to win!

  • steve2

Did anyone else see Jericho’s evil twin in the front row, bottom right? Seriously, he looked like Chubby Jericho! He was sitting in front of some guy who was wearing what looked like a Mark Twain wig, and Chubby Jericho and Mark Twain were high-fiving each other all night! 🙂

Also, I really enjoyed when someone yelled “Oooooh yeahhhh!!!!!” and Punk had to stop what he was doing because he was laughing

  • @jblack424

Ok starts I complained about taker and hhh but best moment of night. Chin music to pedigree to kico out. I see ppl said jericho and punk was excellent. I think that should of been a all time great but they good but not a great match. Rock cena boring til end but picked it up. Dbry pinned in 18 seconds is a joke and I literly missed it peeing. Wwe can’t book and all kind of haters said I was stupid for not ordering but I got it free off internet and couldn’t be happier. That sucked gm match should of been elimination and if I hear kane and orton the should of been worst match of night(minus divas) is one of the matches ppl are hanging onto. Wwe like I complain so much treat fans like we are jokes and I can officially say I’m taking a long break see you summerslam maybe truly probably rumble. Wwe suck and worse part tna is even worse

  • DoJo

I can’t believe I called all the results inc the Brock no show!!!!!!!!!!!
Am very disappointed with the d’bry opening match – was really looking forward to it – then it turns into a squash……. Huh????
Why was Brodus in attendance for a crap dance thing……… Wasted tv time……. I actually enjoyed the divas match, at least there was some wrestling with a great HRM from Kelly K………. 12 man tag was the 2nd low point for me – done nothing with the talentless Eve getting even more screen time!!! Taker/Hunter was a good match, not for technique but for story telling – however I question the use of the cell it brought nothing to the match tbh……… Cody dropping was the right move he will be pushed now…….. Kane/orton seemed a bit sloppy for mania but still a decent match………… Punk/Jericho disappointed me 🙁 really thought it would tear the house down but it just did not elevate to the levels it should have……… Rock/Cena blew the arena!!!!! Not the greatest match but great story telling & awesome crowd participation with the right outcome – looking forward to what will happen with Cena now!!!! All in all a good mania but by no means great……… 7/10

  • Scottyo614

As one poster said Bryan Sheamus left a finger poke of doom in my head. Rock Cena put on a good match actually. It was interesting to see the different psychology between Rock vs. Cena, Punk vs. Jericho and Undertaker vs. Triple H…felt like the HHH crotch chop was the end to that era really. Jericho used words at first then it was great wrestling and Rock Cena had a big match feel. A BIG match that was perfect for the moment. I'm thinkin Rocks win is going to set up next years Wrestlemania though

  • hawkie114

The squash match saved both there gimmicks as fans were cheering for Bryan!

Beth thing was a joke but divas generally are

The booking of main event had to have rock to win to garner credibility as a top guy who they are bringing in for huge matches! Once a year! Different type of booking there’s the b shows and mania build!

The match was like warrior hogan and pretty sure dwain wouldn’t pass a wellness test #justsaying

Rock would have got booed anywhere else as he has been poor on mic! Cena is ultimate company man ! Summers am then mania rematches

  • CMpunk FAN

    I’m Brock Lesnar………No Joke.

  • No Joke……I am Brock Lesnar

  • Alex P

The booking of this PPV was entirely too predictable aside from Rock beating Cena which made no sense! (Even though I'm so happy Rocky won!).

  • James

Loved the 'F*ck You Cena' Chants

  • JoeBlow

I thought this ppv was ok…..the rock vs cena was a great match I thought, lots of close calls and kick outs, the cm punk Jericho match was awesome, I love cm punk but figured Jericho would win, but he didn't. The taker and HHS match was pretty good, but not as good as last year…hbk is my all time favorite wrestler but I was getting annoyed when he kept interfering. The hug and respect at the end of the match was great to see. The daniel Bryant match was pure bs….I think he proved he was legit and a great heel and that match I actually wanted to see…the rest of the card blew, I like orton but would of rather seen him fight wade Barrett if he wasn't hurt.

  • Soulitice

Was not pleased with this PPV,

Too start a bunch of buddies came over to my house, and after an hour and 15 minutes on the phone with ATT we got to start watching (almost missed the bryan match completely!

We were all very upset about Bryan. This could have been one of the better matches of the night, yet easily was a match worse than Divas

Kane/ Orton was solid, I enjoy watching Kane. I was taken off guard with Kanes win, and that put me at 0-2 in calling WM this year.

We were all glad to see Cody lose; not because we don't like Cody, but it means he can be pushed even higher. Also the Big show will be a huge boost to the belt's tarnished image.

    Beth lost… Next match please…

  • Soulitice

Damn what a match for Taker/HHH. Beat my expectations of two over the hill wrestlers. Wasn't flashy, but they definitely sold me on the intensity. I loved the finish, Supertaker stepping on the sledge and shaking his head. This was my favorite match of the night, kept me on the edge of my seat.

Was really hoping the Tag match was elimination, but nice to see a good group. Ziggler looked great at selling everything, I sure hope they utilize him better by next WM

  • Soulitice

The punk/Jericho match was a small letdown. Those two should have had one of the best WM matches in the last few years, instead it was great, but forgettable. Very entertaining for the night, but a match I could see being a main event at a regular RAW.

Rock/Cena, eh. It had a great feel to it. The crowd was finally alive. I thought Cena out wrestled the Rock, which went a long with cena cutting better promos lately as well. I was hoping Cena would get the win or have it be something less than clean. Not quite sure why it was booked the way it was unless Rock plans to do more than just WM in the near future.

Went into this WM thinking it had the best card in Recent Memory, and left thinking how forgettable this WM is.

    • Matt Scott

Why did you feel the need to inform us all of your evening?

  • Kiko

This was the worst wrestlemania I have ever seen!

    • ricardovgv

I guess this is the first Wrestlemania you've ever seen

  • Zach

All of you STOP COMPLAINING!!!! I was highly entertained with it and for 1 I was impressed with the divas. the only thing wwe dropped the ball with was with d bry

  • Higgins

I’m surprised no one has mentioned Ziggler’s amazing selling of that monkey flip. I have never seen anyone do an extra rotation from one of those. He is truly brilliant.

    • Matt Scott

He's done it once before, maybe thats why no one's mentioning it?

    • Mr.Love

      Also John morrison

  • zack

Some fans are super ridiculous. Can’t please everyone. I was very happy about WM28. It was a very good mania, one of the absolute bests!

  • Brian

I’ve attended Wrestlemania 11,20,27 & 28…..Wm28 was BY FAR the best. Best matches, best venue/pyro… Everyone is talking how bad it was, but live…it was awesome! I’m all for the quick finish. Proves ANYTHING can happen in the wwe!

    • Da KiDD

Hell yeah!! I was there live, and it was amazingggggg!

  • Evon Reese

Was this the end of an era or the rocks ego? A man that has gave his all had to roll over for this jerks ego. Cena carried the movie star the whole match to have to lay down in the end is bullshit. And by the way rock needs to improve on his acting skills when they zoomed in on them while Cena had a lock on he was laughing. It was supposed to be about passing the torch. Rock must have been giving Vince the best blow job of his life for this one

  • jonny ace

Taker has had the best match at WM for the past five years with edge,HBK twice and HHH twice say all you want but thats my my opinion anyway. Also Taker and Triple h were visibly battered bruised at the end which proves why they are still two of the toughest and most deicated guys around in WWE despite being over 40

  • Emily

Ive been watching wrestling for the past 6 years and by now your probably thinking im a john cena fan and im damn proud to say i am… And though im also a rocky fan it just sucks that john has completed so much in his years in the wwe and for the wwe to just screw him in the grandest stage of them all …. I’M NEVER WATCHING WWE EVER AGAIN

  • Sned

What a rastlemania! I mean trip vs taker unbelievable. I also enjoyed the rocks chain wrestling at the beginning. One thing I noticed was Cenas face seemed to get chewed right from the beginning, was this due to the rock being stiff? Anyway I was on the rollercoster from the start and what a powerhouse Cena is! Loved the Green!

  • WyFo

I might get heat for this, but just because the matches didn’t go how you wanted them too, it doesn’t mean it was poor booking. Just be happy that the Superstars/Divas put on a show for you. If you didn’t like it, don’t order it next year and read the updates on Wrestlingnewsworld.com

  • jerry

    b haan sux

    Best part of WM28…..
