From Charleston, Virginia, AEW Dynamite brought their fifth episode of their weekly episodic wrestling product that was headlined by the AEW Tag Tournament Final. On this episode, the inaugural AEW Tag Champs would be named.

Last night's episode also featured a contract signing that involved the competitors meeting for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear without getting physical, a welcome change for all wrestling fans. The segment instead ended with Dustin Rhodes being attacked by the Inner Circle and Chris Jericho lighting up a cigar.

Santana and Ortiz also made multiple appearances on the show. Their first appearance resulted in a beatdown of the Rock N Roll express whilst they were being interviewed by Chris Van Vliet. The men also attacked the Young Bucks from the crowd at the conclusion of their match.
