AJ Lee Officially Retires From WWE

WWE has officially announced on that Diva, April Mendez, better known as AJ Lee has retired from the WWE. AJ's final match was at this week's Raw where she teamed with Paige and Naomito go over Natalya and The Bella Twins. WWE sent out this official statement:

AJ Lee (April Mendez) has decided to retire from in-ring competition with WWE. We wish AJ the very best.

AJ started her career in the all female season of NXT in August of 2010. Lee is a former 3 time Divas Champion along with being the longest reigning Divas Champion of all time. AJ was also voted Slammy Award for Diva of the Year twice in 2012 and 2014. AJ recently took to twitter to defend female wrestlers in WWE for only receiving a fraction of the screen time as their male counterparts, using the hashtag #GiveDivasAChance. Outside of WWE, Lee is known for being married to former WWE Superstar CM Punk.

AJ Lee was an incredible talent and it's sad to see her go, she truly made the Divas division stronger. We would like to wish her the best in whatever she decides to do next!
