In the latest evidence that Hulk Hogan has recovered from the racist tirade that left his career in shambles, WWE has reinstated the Axelmania gimmick for Curtis Axel and used it at this week's Raw holiday live events.
Axel portrayed the gimmick that was essentially a jobber parodying Hogan until July 2015 when explosive audio tape of Hogan using racial slurs was uncovered. WWE immediately terminated their contract with Hogan and quietly shutdown Axel's gimmick.
Hogan is heavily rumored to return to WWE at some point next year with it becoming common knowledge (via Brooke Hogan) that the company has had contact with him about appearing at Wrestlemania 33 next April.
The Hulkster has of course denied any contact with WWE but his daughter, Brooke, continues to hint in quick encounters with TMZ Sports there has indeed been contact. At the very least, she hasn't denied the discussions between her father and WWE have taken place.
