WWE clarified on the verified Twitter account for NXT that Batista will still make his guest appearance at the June 12, 2014 tapings from the campus of Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. The following is from Twitter:

As the storyline goes, Batista "quit" on Raw this Monday. In reality, he's taking time off to do media for "Guardians of the Galaxy." He plays the role of Drax the Destroyer in the film that is set to be released in theaters on August 1, 2014.
