WAVY out of Norfolk, Virginia has a feature piece online on former WCW announcer and current Gwinnett Braves play-by-play man Tony Schiavone. In it, he’s interviewed about his time as a wrestling announcer for the NWA, days in WCW before heading back to minor league baseball where he got his start. He also does work with the Georgia Bulldogs football and basketball teams.
Tony is also embarking on a new journey, as he’s training to be a barista at Starbucks:
“To add to all of that, and not many people know this, I’m training to be a barista at Starbucks. The reason I’m doing that is because they have great benefits, it’s a great place to work, I’ve always loved Starbucks. I’ve got time and I want to fill up my time working, I really do, I want to stay busy.”

Richard Reacts: The voice of Tony Schiavone was a major part of my childhood and I always like to keep up with him. It’s great to hear he’s doing well and as a Braves fan, I’ve continued to be a fan of his work down in Gwinnett.
