Clarification On Reported Sting Segment That Didn't Happen On Raw

Hulk Hogan, Sting and Daniel Bryan

There were erroneous reports making rounds prior to last night’s WWE Raw that Sting would open the show with a “major announcement.” I’m not sure how they got started as I heard WWE sent a “push notification” stating as much but I never received such a notification nor did I see that on WWE’s website or on any of their social media channels.

The only thing I saw from WWE regarding the opening 8 PM ET segment of Raw was a shot of The Wyatt Family coming through the curtain with the caption, “Get ready! Tonight's #RAW starts off with the #WyattFamily!” on Instagram. That was also posted on Twitter a couple minutes after Raw started:

Sting wasn’t at Raw nor was he advertised. TMZ Sports reports Sting was at the hospital until Monday afternoon when he was released and sent home to recuperate in significant pain. According to their report, the neck injury he sustained in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match against Seth Rollins was so severe doctors could not provide a long term prognosis.
