Nikki Bella underwent neck fusion surgery earlier this week under the care of Dr. Juan S. Uribe in Tampa, Florida. The fusion was to repair the C6-C7 vertebrae as Nikki had the rare injury of a disc going behind the vertebrae.
Nikki began feeling pain in July 2015 but didn’t undergo an MRI until October. She’s still unaware of what caused the injury. Nikki won’t be doing much rehabilitation but will instead be resting her neck, keeping it as straight as possible. She will be sidelined to her home in Tampa for three months.
John Cena, Nikki’s boyfriend, along with Brie, her brother and mother were at her side for surgery.
WWE put together a video package looking at her surgery that you can watch below:
No timetable has been set for her return and she’ll know in time if it’s career ending.
