As first reported by, there has been a major shake-up in the WWE creative team.

Ryan Ward, the lead writer for Smackdown Live, has been relieved of his duties. His departure is being called a “personal leave.” For weeks, there have been reports that Vince McMahon was ripping up scripts prior to episodes of Smackdown Live, so this news is certainly no surprise.

Ed Koskey, the current head writer for RAW, is replacing Ryan and will be working with Eric Bischoff for the blue brand.

Replacing Ed on RAW will be Jonathan Baeckstrom. Baeckstrom has been with the company for six years in various writing positions and he was also a former lead writer for 205 Live.

The writing teams have also been officially split by brand ahead of the company’s debut on FOX.
