SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan will be revealing two new championships to the blue brand on tonight's show. While nothing has been confirmed, it's safe to speculate that these could be the new Women's and Tag Team Championships.

WWE.com had this to say in their teaser:

At SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar not only executed a hellacious assault on Randy Orton, the crown jewel of SmackDown Live, but he also hit the F-5 on Commissioner Shane McMahon. The attack left many WWE Universe members wondering just exactly how SmackDown Live would rebound.

Well, we’ve gotten our answer … or, at least, some of it.

SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan set social media ablaze today by Tweeting that two new championships for the New Era would be revealed tonight on SmackDown Live at 8/7 C!

It's a #NewEra for #SDLive and a new era needs NEW Championships! Tonight @shanemcmahon & I will debut TWO new titles exclusive to #SDLive!

Could this announcement be a direct response to what happened to Shane and The Viper on Sunday? As for the shockwaves that The Beast Incarnate caused, it would be understandable if the SmackDown Live Commissioner no longer perceived his competition against Raw as “friendly.” In another Tweet on Monday, Shane stated in no uncertain terms that Brock had crossed the line. And though his sister and Raw counterpart Stephanie McMahon agreed and said there will be repercussions, it only seems logical that the damage may have already been done and an ultra-competitive guy like Shane may be ready to turn things up a notch.

Either way, the real questions now become: What will the new championships mean for SmackDown Live? What will they look like? How will the first champions be determined and which Superstars will be eligible to try and capture them? And how will this major announcement impact the brand’s first solo pay-per-view, Backlash, set for Sept. 11?

Stay tuned to WrestlingNewsWorld.com for the latest updates tonight.
